I wire up my nest with red, white, yellow, green and blue for c.but nothing happen when i try to set it up

It could be because your blue wire is not connected to anything at the other(furnace)end.

Can this work without hooking it up to the wall like just using it to control a space hester using a wifi plug?

No. Nest Thermostat connects directly to the wires of your heating system to control your space heater.

What is the battery life for non c wire users?

For systems that are not using a C wire, the average battery life of the Nest Thermostat is three to six months. However, depending on the Wi-Fi activity on the thermostat, it may be possible to extend or reduce the battery life.
