Life changing
I bought this book because I wanted to eat healthier. I don’t need to lose weight. I loved reading Giada’s story. I have similar health issues and needed to get them under control. The recipes are healthy and easy to make. The ingredient list is short and items reasonably easy to find. I live in an area without a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. I highly recommend this book.

Every Recipe Has the WOW Factor
I must admit I did not care for the intro as I do not believe in fasting / dieting - period. She gives a long and lengthy explanation about how to eat healthy, but it leans towards going hungry, lol! I eat to fuel, so with that being said, I still give this 5 big stars. The meals are REALLY tasty, very simple - she's an excellent Chef. I have eaten "almost" everything in the book and there's not one so far that I've disliked. That says a lot about her work. It's THAT good.

One Gorgeous Cookbook Filled with Great and Healthy Recipes
Giada's cookbooks have long been a favorite of mine. I don't use cookbooks all that often. I am a trained chef and my approach is to buy ingredients that look good when at the store and figure out what to make later--using my own background of knowledge and creativity. But, when I do use a cookbook, it is often one of Giada's. They are all beautifully made and feature dishes of my favorite cuisine. The recipes are usually neither overly complex or obscure. But, I don't consider a lot of the recipes in those cookbooks because many of the recipes include and often feature meat. I don't eat beef or pork. So, this new cookbook is just perfect for me. We are now of like minds when it comes to preparing healthy food. She begins by telling the story of how she arrived at this new healthy food philosophy. In doing so, she shows a very human side of herself. She has developed a diet that is stricter and healthier than what I have been doing. I am not at this time about to adopt her suggestions entirely, but, the beauty of the cookbook is that one can go whole hog (a pun), try out a more moderate path, or just pick and choose recipes that catch the eye. One can ignore the healthy philosophy behind all of this, skip the first chapters, and go straight to trying out recipes. I have never been disappointed in any dish I have made using one of her cookbooks. Great that she has added a lot of healthy alternatives and meat-free dishes to her vast collection of recipes.

Totally Changed My Mind About This CookBook!!
I love Giada and have several of her cookbooks. I love just about everything in these cookbooks and the recipes are usually easy and superb. At first glance THIS "cookbook with lifestyle tips" for healthy living did not appeal to me at all. In fact, I gave it a poor review right here on Amazon (I have since removed it!)After seeing some of the recipes from this book featured in Women's World, I decided to give it another look. Why? Because the recipes featured in this month's magazine looked really appealing! Where were those in the book? I guess I had missed them somehow??Anyway, after really going through this book, I decided that I actually did really like it. It is different than Giada's other cookbooks but the recipes really are easy and simple and I've made a few of them now and they are really good. I'm not sure how I got this so wrong at first glance but I did and I'm admitting it!! LOL!!Bottom Line: I still don't think I'll ever make a "meatless" Bolognese and I absolutely would never do the blue light sauna thing or acupuncture...but you have to decide for yourself. As far as the healthy recipes; they're all good~ Thanks Giada!

Diet Culture Messaging Masquerading as Healthful Eating Tips
I wanted to like this book. I really did. I’m a huge fan of Giada’s and have several of her cookbooks. I stumbled across this book through a magazine article in which she was interviewed and mentioned how as she got older, her eating habits needed to change. This point resonated with me deeply, as I am in my mid-40s and realizing my body is changing quickly. My energy levels aren’t quite what they were, and despite being fit and in great health, I’m frustrated that it seems to take so much more effort these days to maintain “good health.”I was hoping this book would help me gain a better understanding of this process, as well as provide some recipes and tips for making necessary adjustments to my eating habits as I get older. It misses the mark severely. While Giada speaks to this point quite a bit in her introduction, the way she addresses it is disappointing. You’ll find a lot more of the same diet culture messaging you find and every other book disguised as a healthful eating guide. Juice cleanses, detoxes, fasting, and other depriving methods are encouraged to “get you back on track,” and in several instances she uses “good” and “bad” to describe foods. Meal plans are restrictive and unappealing, which is almost completely the opposite of how I typically view Giada’s cooking and entertaining persona. In the introduction of several recipes she uses terms like “ feel free to serve the salmon on a bed of quinoa or other whole grain, if you haven’t had your serving of grains for the day.“ I’m sorry… serving of grains FOR THE DAY?!?If you exercise or are otherwise an active person, I can honestly say the meal plans and recipes in this book will be torturous and depriving. It got worse when I read a section titled “get comfortable being a bit hungry now and then.” But reading further and I feel like I’m sentencing myself to starvation.I don’t feel this approach is realistic at all, at least not long-term. Bringing the diet culture into middle-age is not some thing I want to subscribe to or promote, and I feel like this book does just that. Sure, there are a couple of great recipes (The steak salad with white beans and sweet shallot dressing is amazing), but on the whole, I was very underwhelmed— put off, even— with this book.

Disappointing.
I was very disappointed with this cookbook. While I have loved Giada for years, and her cookbooks, this is a misstep in my opinion. Half the book is her advice, and the recipes are so simple for the most part, they don’t seem to require a recipe.

:(
I have all of Giada's cookbooks. I've been a huge fan of hers for years. But I have to say that this one missed the mark for me :(It's a bit too far out there. It's not a realistic plan you can follow unless you want to starve yourself. The recipes are not real recipes. It's nothing a chef needs to explain to you. Half the book is her speaking about her experience and her opinions or things she's tried. I was hoping to find ideas for a more organized light meal plan, but I dont like the layout of the book. It's a bit confusing to follow and there's more words than recipes. This is not a cookbook sorry to say :(

My New Favourite Cookbook!
I've always loved Giada's recipes and her cooking style, but this book is next level. I love the personal information she shared about her journey to eat better & feel better - it really made me feel like I could take control of my gut health too. The recipes are amazing and truly delicious, despite being "healthified" - you'd never know the dairy & gluten is missing! I enjoy the opportunity to try some new ingredients and cooking methods also. Enjoying this book so much I ordered my mom a copy for her birthday! 10/10!

Excellent Purchase
I wasn't sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! Recipes filled with ingredients I commonly use and ingredients I have never used. I am thrilled with trying ingredients I didn't know how to use before. Every recipe I have tried so far is simply wonderful. Must try braised zucchini! It's my new zucchini favourite. Thank you.
