36668 6' Tube with Siphon Pump

I have a motorcycle and Generator in the garage with some gas in the tanks that I wanted to siphon out and add fresh fuel. I ordered this Siphon Pump w/ 6' Tube # 36668 from Custom Accessories and it is a nice little siphoning system, the pump easily starts the siphon and allowed me to drain the tanks rather quickly into an empty gas can, which I dumped into the Trucks tank to allow it to be used up. Fresh gas went in and then some preservative. If old fuel is left in a gas tank, varnish and sediment will begin to clog up the fuel delivery system, this also was taken loose when the gas was out to allow it to be cleaned to the carbs. Works for me.

Total junk. No one way valves to control the flow. The packages says to use your fingers. I'm surprised they didn't say to throw away the bulb and suck on the hose to siphon the liquid.The bulb was so thin and flimsy that after squeezing it once it stayed that way (flat as a pancake) and would not re-expand despite both ends being opened. The hose had been curled up in the package for so long that it refuses to straighten out so that you can immerse it a container.

I am disabled and cannot pick up the large water bath canner or the pressure canner when they are full of water. I use this item to siphon off the water into the sink. It works very well for that purpose. My husband threw back his head and roared laughing when he saw it but quickly admitted that it was a great workaround.

The dang tube holds it coiled up shape even after trying to stretch it out overnight. The squeeze bubble doesn't work either. Had to resort to the old fashioned way of sucking the other end to get a flow from the tank. Just use a thicker piece of all purpose hose for the job.

I bought this for my bugout bag, I've tested it and used it, itll work fine for when the apocalypse comes and I'll be driving around in my nice cool AC vehicle while you all are running from zombies :)

I got a handful of these for the car emergency kits, and after testing one out, it's not bad for the low price.Yes, the hose can be stiff when uncoiling if it's cold, but that's a problem with any plastic tube siphon. The tube is also pretty small on the inside diameter, which makes it a bit slow, but it works. A larger tube would be faster, but would be a bulkier as well.If you're looking for something fast or for using on viscous liquids like oil, probably best to look elsewhere. For a small, inexpensive emergency kit item, it's doing the job fine.

This is a convenient siphon to carry when you don't have much space. It works fine, but it's hard to keep the siphon going because the tube curls too much and doesn't stay at the bottom of the container being siphoned.

Has held up for a few weeks after using it for both gasoline and brake fluid. It takes a certain rhythm to get it going, and patience while the bulb expands itself.
