Overall there is nothing I can say negative about this product. In my own personal experience it was flawless. The kitty’s loved it, they stayed very healthy and the ingredients are top notch. highly recommended.

I love the Merrick Before Grain products. My cats love them and they have had no digestive problems since I switched. In fact the adult cats seemed to like the kitten version while the kitten seemed to prefer the adult cat food. That being the case, they all get fed the adult food now. Merrick Before Grain Cat foods are wonderful. It seems that 99.9 percent of cat foods on the market contain grains - sometimes in spite of the fact that they claim to be grain free. This line of cat food is the only one that I found to truly contain no grains. And it is one of the better priced high quality cat foods that I could find! I found that my cats have been much more healthy since I switched to feeding Merrick Before Grains.* I would add just one note... I cannot afford higher quality canned cat food, and the lower priced canned food are a completely unhealthy choice. Thus I no longer feed them canned food, and Merrick seems to meet all of their nutritional needs. I do however occasionally add approximately 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil to the food to make up for the oils missed. Their coats are shiny and healthy and they are far more active than they were before the switch!

I suddenly found myself with a feral kitten that we had to bottle feed then transition to solid food. This was the first kibble food I bought her. The company is fairly local to me and we can get it local, but I prefer to order on Amazon and do autoship. I've raised my ragdoll adult cat on grain-free food, and she's so healthy and her coat so beautiful. I just started with grain free for my little Talullah. The kitten cries when her bowl is empty to let us know we need to serve her highness. Everyone tries to steal her food, because it smells and tastes great, so I have to feed Talullah in another place. She doesn't gorge on this food like ferals often do in the beginning. I just wish Kitten food was a little less expensive. Her coat is luxurious and soft and she's growing so fast. This food agrees with her so well. Isn't she absolutely perfect? I've been buying this for our two kittens, since they were 3 months old, I will keep buying it until they are 1 yr old, where I will switch to Merrick adult food. I don't mind the smell, I don't know what it tastes like, but the kittens love it, and our two older boys try to eat it all the time. Little sad that it's $25 for only 7lbs of food, I wish the bags came in bigger sizes, cause our two kittens go through a bag a month. I checked a lot of different brands and reviews and prices, I like this best and have convinced my roommate to switch her older cats to Merrick, once the kittens reach adult stage. i like how the bag has a velcro strip to reseal itself after you fill their bowls. I free-feed the kittens, when and if they get fat I'll put em on a diet, but since they are a healthy weight now, they can eat as they please.

I have a 3 month old kitten and two 1 year old ferrets. I have been feeding both just food that I have been able to afford, but the ferret food is rather low quality and it's making them sick, and the few pieces my kitten has stolen from them has made him sick as well. So after some research, I found that this food is much better quality for both species then both the kitten food and the ferret food combined. It may not be nearly as good as Orijen cat food, but it's the quality cat food that I can afford. Both the ferrets and the kitten has taken a liking to the taste. The ferrets made a very easy transition to this food, which is surprising as one of my ferrets has a rather sensitive digestive tract. My female ferret, who was losing weight on the old food, is getting back to an appropriate weight, and they both are looking much healthier then they did on the old food. As for the kitten, he is still transitioning from his old food to this one as I have learned that he has an extremely sensitive digestive system. The new food caused him to have diarrhea for about a week. But now that his system is use to the small amount of new food, I am now very slowly increasing the ratio of new food to old. I am hoping that once the kitten is completely off the old food, I will only need to buy this food for both the ferrets and the kitten, which will greatly save me money. I love that this is in my budget, and it is a much higher quality then the ferret food and kitten food I used to buy. It hasn't been too long since I started buying this food, so I guess we shall see how it is in the long run.

When we first picked out Merrick, we had discovered that our current cat food was subpar, and Merrick was what I found to be the best. We have three kittens who are all rescues, including one from a farm who was not in a very good position health wise. He has completely transformed since we got him, and is a happy and healthy kitten currently. We attribute a lot of that to his food. He filled out quickly (he is pictured, 8 weeks and 7 months) and his fur changed from wiry to soft and silky. All three of our kittens are healthy; the vet told us they look fabulous, likes Merrick as a brand and that many clients use Merrick.

Looking for grain-free options for my two kittens. Purchased it based on the reviews from Amazon.com This is definitely the best option that I have been able to find in terms of price. Previously, the other brands that I had been purchasing locally were almost double the cost. Unfortunately, my kittens seem to be vomiting now since they have switched over. We have switched numerous brands in the past few months and this is the first time they have had digestive issues. Also, cleaning their litter boxes is torture now because the scent is atrocious! It's a noticeable difference.
