Dragon Hunters: Vol. 1 It's A Dragon's Life (Episodes 1-4) [DVD]

Fun, Imaginative, and well written
We love the series. The main characters are quirky and not formulaic. They inhabit a fantastic world made up of floating islands and dragons. Dragons in this world range from nuisances to dangerous. The hunters Gwizdo and Lian-Chu met at an orphanage and are fast friends. Gwizdo finds the work, draws up contracts and Lian-Chu, the knitting warrior, does the actual hunting. Hector is their little blue dragon what carries ALL of their equipment and is the muscle/motor for their flying machine called the St. George. They sometimes get paid but often they do not usually due to some clause in Gwizdo's contract. The women in this series are strong and capable. The reoccurring characters are female like Geraldine who runs an inn with an iron hand and her daughters Zoria who is a competent dragon hunter and Zaza who aspires to be a dragon hunter. When Gwizdo or Lian-Chu get off track, their friends set them right. We definitely like the series over the movie because the characters are more sympathetic and engaging. I do not mind that son watches the entire series over and over again.

A great series
Our family enjoys good family movies and TV Shows. This is one of the top 5 shows. It does have some education (such as sharing, telling the truth, etc) but it is a nice enjoyable series. To see what adventures they get into in every episode is entertaining. I don't worry when I put this DVD in that the kiddos will see anything bad. But even the adults enjoy this series. I highly recomend this for the whole family . Please note this is nothing like the full movie that they realsed a few years ago. Sadly that was not a great movie. It was ok. But nothing like the series. The series is so much better.

It was ok, but not as good as the original movie
This tv show is a takeoff of the movie, but it is just a tv show and not especially good. Our daughter did not really get into it.

Marvelous series! My 11-year-old son loves it!
We saw the digital animation movie first, and my son watches the DVD over-and-over. So, we had to get this series. He loves it!
