Secure, Full-Calf Protection That Just Works
What I liked * Easy to use: Simple on/off; the Velcro adjustment is quick and intuitive. * Full coverage: Shields the entire calf from chain rub. * Rock-solid hold: Strong Velcro straps—doesn’t slip or shift, even on sweaty rides. * Durable material: After multiple rides, the chain hasn’t damaged the neoprene. * Practical:** Does its job without fuss—good build quality. Bottom line Well-designed, secure, and tough. I liked it so much I purchased a second one.

Does what it claims as long as you are not fashion conscious.
OK, the Leg Shield is not going to win you style points. When wearing it, I get questions from coworkers and family -- another weapon to inadvertently (or not) embarrass your offspring. And I purchased the solid black version, so double the green/yellow version. That all said, it works as advertised. Superbly so, at that. I have used it for several months as part of commuting kit, through heat, cold, and rain. And it plain works to protect your pants from damage and grease. I consider it a safety device as much as a pants protector, as getting your pants caught in a chainring or crank can cause a loss of control (I've done it). Since wearing it, I have not had grease stains or catches occur, so it has definitely earned its place in my kit. The three Velcro tabs hold it firmly in place and it has ample coverage. Yes, it will wrinkle your pants if commuting in work trousers; my solution is to carry my work clothes in a pannier, as I never know what else I will encounter on the ride in to work. I wear it over dedicated nylon, quick dry pants (covering winter layer tights when cold) and it really keeps the thin, floating nylon from snagging. It will get sweaty, being neoprene and I wish it had some reflective patches on it (like the leg bands by the same company, which I use on my left leg), but is otherwise perfect. I considered the neon colored version, but decided to pass, since I am sure it would end up a dingy neon after some use. A tip to putting them on is to kneel down when fastening to your calves, that way it mirrors where your pants will be when peddling (also a good time to check your shoe laces, another point of danger with chain rings and cranks! Highly recommended.

Easy fit, durable, simple design - It Just Works.
If you're a bike commuter in colder climates, this Leg Shield is a must buy. I bought it not to protect my pants so much as to avoid having to keep rolling my pants up. I rolled my pants all summer/fall, but once it started getting colder, my ankles would freeze! Bought this thing and now I don't have to roll my pants at all because this covers the pant cuff so it doesn't get ripped up by the pedal crank/sprocket/cassette. I have between 5-15 minute commute and the pants only wrinkle marginally. This is very warm, so I'm not sure I'd want to wear it in warm weather, but for cold weather it cannot be beat. There's nothing on the market like it. Seems very durable, I have no concerns about it holding up for at least this whole winter season in daily use. I bought the black version and it looks exactly like the picture - no trickery there. Size wise, I have gigantic calves because I don't have a car and bike everywhere. I'm also "big-boned" and this fits fine with plenty of room to spare. It would also fit a smaller leg if you've got a more slender body than I have because the velcro bands cover the full width of the thing. Really a terrific/simple design through and through. Best $15 I've spent in a long time.

Leg Shield Fits All
My son and I both have Leg Shields now and we are both very pleased with them! Before the Leg Shield we used rubber bands, and tried velco straps. We lost both all the time and they didn't work too well anyway. The Leg Shield is tall and covers your pants from the ankle up to about 1 inch below the knee. We're both about 5'4" tall. So if you are taller and longer legged, it may not come up as high. My calves at the fullest are 13" around and my son's are 15.5" around. The shield closes around my leg with anywhere from four inches to five inches more fuzzy part to go. In other words I could have a much skinnier leg and it would work fine for me. The leg shield goes around my son's leg and pants at the fullest part of his calf easily. The velcro overlaps by about 1 and 1/2" on him and it stays stuck together throughout his ride. The velcro locking tabs are two inches wide for good locking contact and the fuzzy velcro tabs parts are 2 inches wide and seven and one half inches long. Also, the Leg Shield is very well made. The edges are completely covered with a sewn on edging material that looks like it will never come off or ravel. The velcro locking tab and fuzzy tabs are sewn on with a zigzag stitch. They won't pull off or ravel either. We roll them up and store them in our saddle bags or fanny packs when off the bikes walking around. Great product!

Very effective, but not as convenient as I'd like.
This works wonderfully, it is very effective at keeping the chain grease off of my pants. It is also very comfortable to wear. The only problem is that it seems it could somehow be easier to put on and take off. Due to this when I commute and know I'm going to be riding again soon, I just leave it on. I often get asked if I have a leg injury when I do that. So yeah, an easier faster way to put it on and take it off quickly would be better if possible.

Cheaper than a new pair of pants
I do a whole lot of cycling. And I am What you might call a MAMIL. Which stands for middle aged man in Lycra. But that’s a weekend thing, when I go out for bike rides of 50-100 miles. During the week, I try to commute by bike as often as possible. And I can’t show up to work in tight cycling shorts. It just might be awkward. It could be fine, but I don’t think so. So I commute in regular street clothes. Clothes that I might wear at work. But if you ride bikes- then you know that there is a large chain ring on the right side of the bike, positioned to grab ahold of a loose pant leg. And if it doesn’t chew holes right through it, it will certainly mark it up permanently with chain grease. Now I’ve tied my pant leg tightly to my lower leg with a reflective Velcro strap - designed to make cars aware of your presence, as well as to save your pants. But it doesn’t save you from the grease stains that you get from rubbing up against the chain ring. But this keg shield certainly does the trick. It’s amazing. Easy to put on and take off. I can’t tell you how many pairs of been save by using this thing, which makes it a fantastic value. Especially because you only need one. Although, because of my cyclists vanity- and need for symmetry, I’ve been thinking of buying one for my left leg. I wonder if a future version could have a reflective band on it. Or if it could simply be made in bright yellow? Great product

The next best thing since velcro straps and rubber bands.
Great replacement to my velcro straps.. I've had my reflective velcro pant strap for 15 years and did the job from keeping my pants getting caught on the chain ring but would not prevent it from grease stain and gunk from the chain and sprocket. And over the years , I ruined and torn a couple of my pants due to excess material getting caught into the chains. I also had an accident that got my skin gouged in the chain ring! started wearing old jeans, which was heavily stained from grease through the years I commuted. One day I lost my strap and started folding my pant leg, which didn't help much from getting stained from the inside. So I decided to look for a replacement and found this LEG SHEILD here on amazon. For the price, it was a bit much and thought it might be overkill for a pant leg strap. Since I commute by bike 5 days a week, why not invest in a product made for this. The reviews here had me convinced in my purchase. Eversince purchasing this item. I was a happy rider with my stretched cargos and sometimes in slacks covered up in my neon yellow reflective pant sheild. I highly recommend for anyone who has been committed to commuting by bike and this item has saved my leg and pants from the greases and gunks accumulated in the chains. The high visible neon yellow and reflective lines also helps me from commuting at night and day and be seen by drivers. This leg shield is worth every dollars and cents..

Perfect for low snow boots too.
I bought two of these leg shields and they work beautifully to protect one's pants from bicycle chain grease, and as a type of gaiter to prevent snow from entering the top of a low boot. I use them for snowshoeing.

Sehr praktisch

Works well. Expensive for what it is.
Works as expected. Protects leg from getting chain oil/wax
