Perfect for me.
Love this board. Being Walnut it took a lot of oil to start but now looks beautiful. It is the right weight for me as I hate really heavy boards. Also as I'm 5'4" it is the right height when on the worktop for chopping in comfort.

Cracked within first month
Perfect size and feel chopping board. However after less than a month, with limited us and care guidelines fully adhered to - the board started cracking. Disappointed when buying what seemed a premium product.

There were no problems
I needed a good cutting board - finally a real good one - not the bamboo stuff. John Boos was all over the reviews and it had the exact size I needed. However, there were a lot of negative reviews about cracks, so I was reluctant and looked at the competition for more than twice the price. I decided to take the chance with Boos. It arrived at freezing temperatures, outside the door. I SLOWLY acclimatized it in the basement and once at room temperature I oiled and waxed it every day for a week ... followed by at least once a week. (the oil/wax came a few days later - I bought some mineral oil at the drug store for the mean time) You know, when you love something you put a bit of extra effort into it, I would say! Now ... there is not the slightest problem ... it's the best cutting board I ever had. I cannot speak for the ones who had bad experiences ... it worked for me. (with a little concern how wood reacts to temperature and humidity changes) This the best cutting board I ever had and the cherry is kind to my expensive knives. Cheers
