Great quadcopter for the money.
I bought two of these, one for my 9yr old son and one for my 11yr old boy. I read everywhere that you need to find a quadcopter to "learn to fly" before stepping up and spending a lot of money on one. For the price, I figured this would be a good start. I looked at probably 25-30 different quadcopters before settling on these. Here's what I can tell you from first time owners of quadcopters (I am no expert with these), they are really good fliers inside the house as well as outside, as long as there is minimal wind. These are very light and do not fly well with any breeze. They take a little to get used to controlling, but once you get the basic controls (and understanding of "yaw" and "pitch", that's the most technical language I've learned for these) these are awesome fliers. The other reason I decided on these is because of the flight distance these can go. I have had them at least 200ft from the controller and had no problem (manufacturer says 300ft but when it was 200ft out, we had a hard time seeing it) . Most other quads in this price range didn't seem to have the same flight distance. One thing this does not have is an altitude pressure needle. Supposedly the pressure needle is to keep the quad at the same height while hovering so it is easier to control. This does not have that feature. Another thing that stinks, like most quads, is the flight time on the battery. You're lucky to get 10 minutes per charge, and it takes over an hour to fully recharge the battery. I have looked at buying spare batteries, but all of them for this quad seem to ship directly from China and I don't want to mess with that nightmare. The final thing I would say is that these can take a beating. My boys (and I...) have crashed these things multiple times. They have dropped from at least 15ft up and landed in the road and they still fly great. They do have some scratches on the blades because there are no blade guards like most quads have. If by chance the blades break, there is an extra set that comes in the box. I thought by now we would have had to replace them, but we haven't.All in all, for the money, these are worth every penny. Happy flying if you choose to buy one.

Just buy it !
If you are looking for a great beginner drone with room to grow into this is it !One key return actually works ! It's not always spot on but it comes back towards the general location that you started in!The light are perfect for orientation and the stability of this drone is awesome.I started with a syma x5c but I wish this would have been my first.Flight time is about 10 mins and make sure you buy extra batteries because you won't wanna stop. Also it work even better with a X6 tarantula transmitter so if you already have an x6 ... You have to get this one ! Just it it and you won't regret it ... It's my favorite to fly even out of my expensive gps drones !

FUN TOY, Not TOO DURABLE
This is fun! I purchased as a gift for my boyfriend. HE has had a lot of fun and he is 27 years old :) It is made from a VERY light weight plastic and feels cheap but it flies nicely. He tested it and the height & distance this this can go is phenomenal for the price! He has already gotten it stuck WAY high in a tree. It ended up falling out and sadly bent one of the rotors causing it to fly improperly now. We hope to fix it. OUR fault but it isn't very durable in case of a heavy impact. Be careful :)

It is what it is
I was disappointed that the altitude feature did not keep the quadcopter from crashing into the ground or flying up 50 feet. As far as a gentle landing that was also advertised if the quad lost signal, I would say dropping like a rock would be a better way of putting it. I had higher hopes that this new XK line would be an improvement, but alas for the money I will be steering clear in the future. The unit seemed to be a bit underpowered, I might add. And as this was not the model with a camera the flips would only be worse than the one I'm reviewing. The gear drive as with the SYMA X11 is a novel idea on the small quads, but that doesn't make up for a lack of overall pep. At least there are good sized props that are secured by a screw that has a treaded hole unlike those press fit ones that always go flying off. I would of sent it back, but I lost it on the second flight; not enough power to fight the winds even on high rates. That was almost the fastest fifty I have blown on a quad. What a waste.

great toy quad
This quad is fairly fast for a toy copter. I bought it so I could keep it in the car so I could use it anytime if I didn't have my regular FPV gear with me. It is very hard to locate when it goes down. I might install a buzzer or something alike. But, then again, it was somewhat cheap. LOL

Great with Tarantula transmitter. Good value.
Fantastic quadcopter for the money... just not with the stock transmitter. Performs very well with Tarantula X6 transmitter - very fast yaw and much better pitch in expert mode.Built like a tank - flew mine at full speed into a garbage can (oops) and didn't even need to adjust trim. Very stiff and sturdy chassis.

XK ALIEN X250!!!!!
This little bad boy is great right out of the box but with a pro radio controller that my dad has THIS THING IS LIKE A BEAST!!!!! Very fast great yaw and pitch as he tells me. Thank you he is a happy veteran with his toy lol update: had to change the rating to 4 stars due to that seems to be a motor issue with the back left motor.seems to be faulty.thought it might be a seller issue but orderd from another sight and got another from local hobby shop and same deal.just orderd motors here on amazon to see how they do will repost for another update

It's a good buy.
This quad has sweeping lines with a stealth flavor. It flies decently with the stock transmitter, but really perks up using a tarantula x6 transmitter (inexpensive). As expected, wind speeds greater than 5-6 mph will move it around but it can still be controlled if set to a higher rate. It's a good buy.
