Good, but not made to last. Secure it.
Holding onto a flip phone is a labor of love. And for my mother, part of keeping her flip phone involves having a good car charger for road trips.This exact car charger, with a large rounded connector, charges quickly (full charge within a couple of hours apparently) and connects to my mom's Chevrolet Cobalt cigarette lighter jack without issue. So far so good.However... the point where the thin cord begins at the base of the large round connector is perhaps surprisingly flimsy and seems to be worn down by its own base connector. In the course of normal use, the cord strains until the black cable sheath actually tears to expose bare wiring. Eventually, that wiring also tears and the charger can no longer be used.I had to replace this exact product twice before realizing that the connector needed to be reinforced to compensate for the poor design. I started with electrical tape which has helped, but will eventually try rubber solution to secure it better.For the most part, it's worked well - better than third party chargers, which for my mom had issues keeping connected. But the construction lacks and, if used normally, the charger simply breaks down.This is old technology now, so if you need it you'll probably want to treasure and maintain it (especially since it's unclear how long third party sellers will keep being able to stock this version).
