Absolutely! I practiced with several gauges of wire and up to the heaviest gauge of soft steel wire I wanted for the purpose, it worked perfectly. I admired some of the home made devices on You Tube to do this task and settled for paying for Clamptite and its postage to New Zealand because of its apparent design and usability. I accept it cost me much more than if I had been in the US, but we have no other outlet in this country for the Clamptite, so the usability became the deciding factor. I haven't used the device all that much yet, for actual connections, but it is obvious those connections are there until the hose fails. The device is relatively light and I would not expect it to last well in a commercial sense. I have greased the thread with a MOS2 grease and that will see me out. But this device under care will carry on into the next generation. It is well made. My small use so far has shown the ADVANTAGES of this type of clamp against current screw clamp types of design. My guess at this time, is that the clamp (with the right wire) will out last the hose.

I have had one of these in and out of my shopping cart for years and finally purchased one. Simple device that works great. Don’t have to have an assortment of hose clamps of different sizes. Hose clamps never worked well if you had to cinch them down leaving a “tail” of band sticking out. They tightened unevenly in cases like that. Watched some videos and practiced a few times, but it’s not really difficult. Used it to replace a small hose clamp on my Dad’s water filter. The stainless band was fine, but the rest of the hardware rusted and fell apart after years of water exposure. Clamptite made a nice looking and secure clamp. Won’t have to worry about corrosion either. Good tool to have around the house or vehicle!

A little awkward getting used to using it, but it works fantastic when you’re broke down with a blown off hose and the side of the mountain 13 miles from civilization

This is a quality tool that will last. The package I ordered came with a 1 lb can of .041 SS safety wire. I'm sure that will last a long time too.

This is a really cool and functional tool. I wrapped a couple of tool handles with it, and it's really solid. I have no idea what else I'm going to use it for, but I'm sure I'll find something.

Product arrived quickly and on time. Disappointed when opened to find wire was in a paper cylinder and not a plastic container as shown. Tool seemed to be smaller than I expected but looks nice. Didn’t like how the handle can screw right off but fits nicely in the hand. Did a quick trial run with making a clamp and only using one wrap around was very impressed with it.

Easy to use and the clamps hold really well.

I saw the tool being used on YouTube and decided to het one. It works 👍 👌 great!
