Govinda Rosewood Box Tree of Life 9 x 6 Inch

I would have given it 5 stars IF it could open and shut easily. It cannot. I had to sand it down myself, and still won't shut with ease.Whoever carves these boxes, is a very gifted artist. It is very beautiful.If they can get it to open and shut more easily, then it would be a 5 star.Love the box, though.

Not really thrilled with this little box, but will keep it because it was on my daughters wish list. She is a huge fan of the Tree of Life, as am I, but compared to the picture, the box is a poor representation. The tree is thick and poorly done. On top of that the box is difficult at best to open, almost have to pry it open with your nails. Now well made either, two threads hold the back of the box together as a hinge point. I was very disappointed with this item, and would not recommend it

This could have been a nice box if it didn’t have a crack across the top and finish on the back scraped off. To top it off I had a real hard time getting it opened. Also closes hard.With all the good reviews there must be some good ones out there. I guess there is no quality control inspecting the item before it is boxed. Very disappointed!

This was a part of a bridal shower "station" where guests wrote notes of encouragement for the bride and put them in the box, and she got to take the box home. She was so thrilled to learn it was hers! It is very well made and looks elegant, not at all cheap or mass produced. It would make the perfect gift for any nature lover or a great little jewelry box or letter holder for someone special. I can't say enough good things about it!

Beautifully carved box. Inside of box was mold on it. Did not wanted to returned it, as I love anything made in India. I washed box with cloth soaked in white vinegar and wash it thoughtfully. Let it open on outside sun. Love the box.

Beautiful box. It made a great gift. My friend has already received many compliments on it. It's a nice size for either using as a jewelry box or storing small items. Looks almost exactly like the picture with small differences in staining. I liked the box so much, I was tempted to keep it for myself.

The carving is rough and you can see the marks from the. Arving tool. There are a number if small imperfections or misalignments as well. For example, the lid is not flush with the back, and while the lid is securely closed, it does not rest flush in some points. All that said, the imperfections give it a nice rustic quality and the wood is beautiful. At the price point it is 4 stars.

The box and engraving are beautiful unfortunately the box is warped and doesn’t sit flat on the tableIt rocksI’m going to put little felt feet on it to see if that helps but definitely can not give it as a gift the way it is
