Much faster than using CAD for simple point-to-point (no PCB) or dot PCB prototyping. The template is strong and flexible, containing most common components. The relative scale of components is a bit large, but you can always photoreduce it.

Very useful for hand drawn schematics. For simple schematics this is a lot simpler and quicker than firing up Eagle. Good old school, pencil and graph paper and this template. I wish I had bought this 20 years ago. I use a mechanical pencil like a Pentel brand, because some of the lines cut out of the template are quite thin. All electronic components standard symbols are on this template. It uses the Amercan style symbol for resistors, too. This is a wonder full specialty product worth every penny. I get a Five Star collect notebook where inside the cover is a manila page that is a pocket and this template slides right into it . It encourages the very best practice and work ethic for the electronic hobbyist work which is document your designs while you are working on them. Draw your design while it is fresh in your mind.
