Do I need to use ketosens solution before using the meter? I'm concerned about my results not being accurate

My meter was functional & readings were accurate until I ordered my 2nd set of test strips. Now it shows 0.4 Every. Single. Time!! It’s been 3 months of 0.4. I looked back on Amazon & now it shows a calibration solution setup that’s available for this problem. BUT- I bought it because it says on this page that it doesn’t need it. Now I have a bad meter, unusable strips (10 remaining) & ketosens wants me to purchase a solution that might fix the problem. I’m not ok with Ketosens!!

If you already tried below and still could not get your beep turned on, please DM us directly :) Press "S" button until "SET" screen is on. Click any arrow to make it say "Yes" at the bottom of the screen. Press "S". YYYY Press "S". MM Press "S". DD Press "S". 12h/24h press "S". HH press "S". MM press "S". You will now see "bEEP" at the bottom of the screen with either "On" or "OFF". Please click any arrow to make it blink "On". Then Press "S" button until the meter shuts off.
