Perfect For Young Kids, Book Reports, Projects, etc. - This isn't a large book. It is concise, I think it has 30 pages or so. But every page is fact filled, picture filled, and there are quotes and timelines, and surprising tidbits that I was unaware of. This was for my grandaughters school project, and it was perfect. She is in 2nd grade. Review: A good read for young children - My 5 yr. old granddaughter enjoyed me reading this book to her. I love the pictures, there are words that are important in the book which are explained/given the meaning of on the page separate from the body of the text. I love that! I have purchased two other book is by the National Geographic and will buy more. I can't state enough how much this book has help explain civil rights and segregation on a level where my kindergarten grandchild could understand what Rosa Parks did and who she was.

Great book!
My daughter was learning about Rosa Parks in school, so I purchased this book for her to read at home. I enjoyed reading it with her and it gave us some talking points to discuss while reading it.

Excellent photographs!
My 1st graders are so fascinated with the Civil Rights movement. They kept wanting to know more about Rosa Parks so I was looking for a good read aloud. They were enamored with all of the photographs in this book. It’s a bit small for a read aloud, but if you put it on a doc camera, the problem can be easily solved.
