I am connecting to 3 inch pvc pipe, is this a friction fit or do i need to apply glue/solvent?

It's more of a snap or press fit. No adhesive is required for lightly loaded connections.

I am using a 3" flexible drain (landscaping) drain pipe.....will this connector snap to fit that??

I used small downspout screws to secure so it won't come off, mine has been on over two years and still going strong. I'm using two rain barrels and it works great!!!
