You DO have to cut back to grab the outer base tube on Toro 300 rotor heads
I bought these so that I wouldn't have to cut back the sod as much around my Toro 300 rotor heads when clamping the base tube. Using Channellocks required a huge grass dig to be able to clamp the base. Keyfit advertises no digging required. Maybe that is true for other brands of sprinkler heads, but the Toro 300s require at least some digging of the surrounding grass and dirt to get to the base tube. This is especially true if the heads have sunk over time (+30 years) with thatch and root build up. The one bad thing about these is the jaws do not open as wide as Channellocks so the handles are quite far apart when clamped to my base tubes. So far that I couldn't the rubber tightener to work properly. In this situation, you really need a second pair of strong hands to hold the clamp on the base tube while you use Channellocks to unscrew the Toro 300 guts. I deducted one star for this problem. The Keyfit.com web site has been hacked. Norton 360 reports Web Attack: Rig Exploit Kit Redirection 13 when accessing it. Because they are American made I added back one star. I really like this product and I think it has a clever idea. I realize that they are a bit pricey as a tool, but that is because of their American origin. Buy American made products, not Chinese.

Necessary tool for sprinker maintenance
Works as advertised...EXCEPT it does not hold a Half inch riser in the "UP" position. It will hold the larger risers though, as long as the rubber strap is intact. We have about 60 sprinkler heads that need to be raised two inches. This wrench, although a bit pricey, saves a LOT of time spent chasing your tail in the process of removing the head make the change to a taller riser. Works Great!
This thing turned out to be shockingly useful. Sure, itโs a bit pricey for a DIYโer, but it saved me a ton of time digging out the sprinkler head. Even the ones buried pretty deep came out with almost no effort. Honestly, between the quotes I was getting and the lack of availability from sprinkler companies around here, doing it myself was the only realistic option. With this tool, the whole job went faster, cleaner, and with way less frustration than I expected. It basically paid for itself in the first afternoon

A Must Have for the Homeowner who wants to maintain their home underground sprinkler system
I have a 14 zone system which covers over an acre with approximately 65 heads. Every year it seems I need to replace a number (I use Rainbird and Hunter 4 inch popups). Some of these heads were installed when the overall system was installed in 2000 (including some Weathermatic Heads). They just wear out. I was having difficulty removing a couple of these 21 year old Weathermatic heads, and needed a tool to grab the body of the sprinkler so I could replace it with a Rainbird 5500. My gas pliers which I generally use were not big enough to accommodate the Weathermatics (which are bigger), so I needed either to buy larger gas pliers or do something else. I saw this tool on Amazon, and it seemed to fit the bill (despite the high cost). I can report after a moning of uninstalling Weathermatics and installing Rainbirds that this tool is the real deal. It is very sturdy and makes replacing heads a snap. It also makes installing nozzles very easy.

A MUST if You Maintain Your Own System
My biggest issue when working with my systems over the years comes to when I need to get jar top lids off that are in the ground box. Bare hands are not enough to tighten the lids not can you effectively get a pipe wrench or channel locks in to to the job. Needless to say - this tool did exactly what I needed it to. Before finding this tool, I would usually have to dig out the ground box itself and a fair amount around the perimeter in order to get a wrench down far enough to do what I needed to do. I'm amazed that there is not something similar to this sold in stores locally. Wrench is a bit on the spendy side but is a huge time saver.

Life saver for your back!
With these tools you never have to dig up a sprinkler head for replacement! You may have to clear grass and a little dirt to get to the head. The extension tool works great too! Just spin the head and/or extension out and replace it with the sprinkler head removed - flush - replace and align the head - your done!

Amazing engineering
Whoever designed this was a genius and must have had significant experience in the irrigation industry. Even the finest details like slightly rounded angled teeth that grip but don't score the plastic parts. As a sprinkler repair professional, I recommend this product 100%.
