So far I am loving this electric die cutter. It cuts perfectly, is quiet enough, and is so much easier to use than the manual one. I bought it because of the progressively worsening arthritis in my hands, but I wish I had bought it long before my hands started troubling me; the cut and emboss are just so superior. My one worry is that it will stop working early in the game, as I have read has happened to others. But so far so good. The see through plates will curl - just force them through as you would with a manual machine. Makes for a crisper cut.

I have been using a manual die cutting machine with a hand crank for 11 years. Lately, it was taking longer to cut and harder on my arthritic hands. I researched electric machines, read the reviews here on Amazon and as the price was reasonable and the delivery quick, I bought it. Very easy to set up and begin cutting; just plug in the cord. This little machine is a papercrafter’s dream! Why did I wait so long to buy it? Highly recommend. Would also recommend the precision base plate if you cut intricate dies, you can get that on Amazon too.

I purchased a Gemini prior to this. Horrible! Plates warped immediately when following instructions to a "T." Fortunately, I was able to get a full refund for the Gemini. Then, I purchased the BIG SHOT EXPRESS. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! QUIETER THAN THE GEMINI. I'm still using the same cutting plate that came with the machine and it's flat as a pancake! NO WARPING OF CUTTING PLATE! BEAUTIFUL CUTS. I've had the BIG SHOT EXPRESS FOR A MONTH AND HAVE CUT HUNDREDS OF TIMES WITH PERFECT RESULTS! So far...so good! I highly recommend the BIG SHOT EXPRESS OVER GEMINI!

I like this machine, because I don't need to crank it and the plates move through the machine smoothly. The only thing I had to get use to was that the button needs to be held down the entire time it is pushing the plates through. I had the impression that once I pushed the button, it would just go through (and I could possibly walk away). But you actually need to stand there and hold the button down. Would be great if Sizzix would allow this feature to be a 1-Push Button and not a Press-Down button. Otherwise, after getting over the idea of what I thought was supposed to happen, I am happy with the machine and love how easy it is to use.

I will not buy it again. It is poorly made and they have had trouble with the gears, My first one-stop working just a few days before the year was up on the guarantee. I had a die and plates stuck in it and spent $40 to mail it back into the company. They did get the die and plates out and mailed them back with a promise to get me a new machine when they figured out the problem and did tell me it was the gears that were craked. So I waited and I had not heard anything for over a year and a half. Then I saw that they had a new machine out on Amazon and I bought it because I really wanted another one. Well, I was using it and had it for a month and it stopped working and frozen up and would not go in reverse. So I unplug it to let it rest and try again but it would not work. I teach classes and when a machine does this when you are teaching it does not say much for the machine or the company. I called Sizzix and told them about my first machine they had no record of it. When I told them about the second machine I was told to contact Amazon have them deal with it. They have had a lot of issues with their machines and do not back their customers at all. So my point is if you use your machine a lot just do not waste your money. None of the ladies in my class will buy this machine because they have seen 2 brake.

While it works it was great. The cutting ability is good. I am able to cut 2 sheets of card stock doubled at one time with a good die. The problem is that after 2 1/2 years the power is acting up. The forward toggle works but the backward side doesn't respond anymore.

I'm really liking this die cutter because I don't have to crank it; my wrists are much happier! It easily runs both forward and backward with the press of a button, and is very quiet. The usual warping of the cutting plates is happening, even though I'm both rotating and flipping them after every use. I'm glad I bought an extra pair for future use. Recently I tried cutting 2 layers of paper on one pass; this worked fine. I've also cut aluminum can material, which worked best with the addition of a metal shim.

I do a lot of die cutting and embossing. My first die cutter was a Big Shot, but I decided I wanted an electric model. I went with another big name cutter and it was awful. Plates warped, extremely loud and destroyed my hot foil plate. Threw it out and ordered a Sizzix Big Shot electric model. I love it! The quality is superb, very quiet and does not warp plates. My new hot foil system works like a dream in the Sizzix! Will never buy another brand!

I got this machine because I have brittle bones and arthritis. It works really well. My first unit was defective and would not reverse. Amazon sent me a replacement and the replacement works perfectly. I will say that with some of the thicker no-name embossing folders and thinner dies work better on the manual crank machine vs. This one. This machine will allow me to make a lot more cuts and spend a lot more time crafting without me hurting myself.

I purchased this item for my wife as an early Christmas present. Think she is in love with it as she no longer has to crank a manual machine.

I use a manual BigShot virtually every day and sometimes develop "tennis elbow" following extensive use. This electric model is a workhorse-- somewhat slow but smooth and dependable. Important to load it correctly, whether cutting framelits or embossing.

Now that I am getting arthritis in my hands, it is so nice not to have to crank.
