Great pod for the money
This is a really awesome pod for the money. Lightweight and sturdy, leg locks are quick and easy and hold securely, Adjustments are good, including separating center post for close to the ground work. Build quality is very good with thoughtful additions like ball head levels and retractable hook on bottom of center post for hanging a stabilizing weight or camera bag. It has a big ball head with nice quick release. It must be mentioned that there is a little bit of down-drift on medium sized lenses after locking ball head down on a target and you must compensate for this by locking it a little above the target. I have found this to be a common problem with ball heads in general however, including my much beefier Manfrotto ball head. The Manfrotto pod is a beast, weighing in at close to ten pounds. It got left in the car a lot. I take this pod with me everywhere and it is a joy to carry and use. At four pounds it will not kill your back. It's not graphite, but it's not $500 either. Do you need a $500 pod? Hey, if you've got that kind of money to burn go get a Gitzo. But if you just want to sharpen up your pics with something that is solid with good build quality and not a burden to carry, this is a great value for the money. I am happy with it and highly recommend it.

Does great
Sturdy and holds the Nikon D800 quite securely. Possibly one of the best tripods I have purchased.
