FloTool 11909 RhinoRamps Vehicle Ramps (Pair, 12,000lb. GVW Capacity)

Im happy with the product. Just got them in today so haven't had an opportunity to use them yet but based on many reviews I have read Im sure they will do the job just fine. One point I wanted to make, that wasn't noted in any review or product description that i found, is each individual ramp is rated for a maximum load of 3000lb. I read this on the warning label (by the way Amazon its not a good idea to place your sticker over the warning text on the product) that came with the ramps. This doesnt concern me because I won't surpass this limit however it occurred to me the 12000lb GVW capacity is a little misleading. Just because a vehicle is 12000lb does not mean the weight distribution is balanced between the rear and front axle. For this reason I think the product description should include the text regarding max load per ramp being 3000lb. Shouldn't a plastic product that is supporting a life crushing weight be posted with an expiration date or recommended period of use? It is common (if not required) for safety helmets to have a manufacture date and recommended retirement period on the product itself so the user knows when they must buy a new helmet. The reason for this is that plastics do not maintain strength indefinitely. UV, temperature variations, solvents, oil, etc can all be cause for plastics to weaken and fail. You wont necessarily see any warning signs of this during a visual inspection. Fortunately I havent read any comments about these Rhinoramps collapsing however it would be inevitable given enough time. Who wants to be the lucky one? Im not a chemical engineer and I dont know much about plastics, but based on other plastic products recommended usage period, I would say 5 years is the time to dispose of these ramps and by new. I would invite Rhinogear to comment on this so we may know.

I bought these to make oil changes easier. For years I've been using a floor jack and jack stands when changing the oil, but this saves time and trouble. They only give about a six inch lift, but that's enough to take care of business on my 07 Mazda MX5, which is a low slung car. Other reviewers mentioned that the ramps slipped on the pavement when lifting a rwd car. I did not have that problem. I wonder if the other review had his/her foot on the brake... Don't apply brake until you're up on the ramp. Driving a stick-shift should keep that left foot off the brake :) Light weight, stack together and stand on end so they only take up about 1 sq foot of floor or shelf space when not in use. They may seem to be a little pricey for what they are, but for a high quality product, made in USA, probably last a lifetime, I think it is a good deal. I don't see any room for improvement with this product.

I love these ramps so much I actually aquired my first pair this past May 2014 at Wal Mart. My father helped me on some vehicle maintenance and after wards he was so excited about the ramps being made of material that was not heavy like his old steel framed ramps that I actually let him take the pair I purchased home as a gift. I paid 48.00 @ wal mart.. So i decided to check just in case they had them on amazon and they did and for a much better price since i am a prime member. Less than $40 plus free 2 day delivery and low and behold my brother asked wheres his pair after he spoke to my father and so I gave that new pair once again to family and just ordered me a new pair again and now we all have a set. This is a must have for any do it DIY mechanic. They are light as heck.. And no sliding when pulling vehicle onto them and best of all they allow me to not damage my low profile vehicle while pulling up onto them. I LOVE THESE RAMPS!!!! Giving this item one star, initially. I will revisit after first usage, and re-evaluate my rating. ******* SECOND REVIEW/UPDATE LISTED BELOW ******* Only one ramp shipped to me. As far as I can tell, based on both pictures, and the title, I was supposed to get a Pair of ramps. It reads: RhinoGear 11909 RhinoRamps Vehicle Ramps (Pair, 12,000lb. GVW Capacity). Maybe I'm wrong? The packaging was sub-par - I had other items bouncing around in the box the ramps were shipped in (oil). I live Key West - I order online from Amazon a lot, because we don't have a lot of variety or options here. A simple message to Amazon, and they immediately go above and beyond. Amazon replaced my entire order - not just the missing ramp. Nothing but endless love for Amazon's customer service. I've only had a few shipments go wrong from Amazon, none of which were their fault, yet they always immediately take care of me. First Impression: It looks and feels fairly sturdy. I can see where people might have sliding issues, because their aren't a lot of rubber feet. The rubber feet also are slightly movable. The plastic seams on the underside seem intact, but I could see where they might spread under weight. Also, I read a lot of the reviews here for these. I know they are plastic, and I expect them to be less robust than a Steel pair like my father has. For the people only using these ramps: Please, please, please use jack stands when you are underneath the vehicle, regardless of if it's on these ramps. It's good practice, and it could potentially save your life. ******************************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************************* **************************** UPDATE ************************************************ ******************************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************************* Second Impression after multiple uses: Amazon got me a new set within 2 days. This time, they came with a zip tie holding them stacked together, and it has a sticker showing "sold as pair," as well as a cardboard tag. Awesome. I mainly got these for my 2006 Scion XB. It barely weighs over 2000lbs, so these were sufficient. Mine sits lower to the ground, so it's harder to get a jack underneath it. They stack nicely and aren't heavy - great for me in my 500sq ft apartment in Key West. So I rolled it onto these, on concrete, and inspected them. They are plastic, so they do flex. I'm not sure how evenly it distributes weight, and I'm not sure I'd trust them to hold 12,000lbs reliably. Mine did not slide, as others have stated, though I did it on a rough concrete - your mileage may vary. They worked for me, and are exactly what I expected - a cheap, light weight, alternative to a jack for my smaller car. I'm changing from a 1 star to a 4. I pulled my Jeep onto them as a test, because it's curb weight is around 4500lbs. It rolled onto them solid enough, though my tires are over sized compared to these ramps. It flexed a little, but still held. Again, I'm not sure I would risk 10,000-12,000lbs on them. For me, it's just about getting it off of the ground without needing a jack. I still use, and 100% recommend to anyone using these, appropriate load bearing quality jack stands underneath the vehicle as a fail safe BEFORE doing automotive work. Jack stands are cheap, and could save your life and limbs.

I have been looking for a better set of 'wedges' to level our class C motorhome. I read the reviews where others complained about these ramps becoming 'misshapen' or 'skidding' when they tried to use them. I bought 2 sets and we are on day 18 of our trip and have used them every night (most RV parks are not very level and few class C motorhomes have leveling jacks). We have not experienced any of the problems reported by some reviewers. These ramps have worked perfectly. They fit our 225/75R16 LTE tires so much better than those small yellow angled ramps sold at most camping outlets. Our class C weighs in at just over 14,000 lbs and these ramps have supported it safely and securely. Storage is easy as they 'nest together' to take up minimal space. This is an excellent product, and buying from Amazon saved money over buying from Wal-Mart (I didn't have to pay shipping since I have Amazon Prime). These ramps have a low enough angle to allow me to drive our BMW X3 straight up them. I had my wife watch from the front because it's difficult to be sure you have them perfectly straight, and of course, you want to be sure you didn't inadvertently move them as you start onto them. These have rubber inserts in the leading edge, so as soon as they take some weight from the car, they 'bite' and stop moving, at least on pavement. For our other car, a low spoiler hit the ramps before the tires did. No big deal, I just cut some pieces of 2X10's, screwed 2 of them together for each side so the approach was progressive (and did the same on the other end to match the slope of the ramp). Took me all of 15 minutes, max, to deal with, and I won't have to do it a 2nd time. The fact that these 'nest' into each other is a nice feature that saves on storage space. These are rated for 12,000 pounds, but don't risk your life on that. Use jack stands or something else as a back-up just in case something slips, tilts, or fails.

Interestingly, only after personally measuring the height of the ramps after I purchased them was I able to confirm that the "height" of the ramps measures 6-1/2". That is, when you drive your vehicle up the ramps & have the vehicle properly sitting in the slight 'dip' at the top of the ramp, your vehicle will be elevated a total of SIX and ONE-HALF inches (6-1/2") above the ground. I think some of the confusion regarding the dimensions of this product is due to the fact that the bump-stop/barrier at the very highest point at the end of the ramp measures between 8-1/2" and 8-3/4". This height of 8.5" however is NOT a useful piece of data given that the measurement is only applicable for the skinny barrier/bump-stop at the very end of the ramp designed to prevent your tire from driving off the end of the ramp. Once again, the take away message is that these ramps will elevate your vehicle a total of 6.5-inches above the ground when driven to the top of the ramp. Moving on, this pair of vehicle ramps is well built with honeycomb construction for extra strength. Stackable ramps are nice for easy storing. Although I personally did not have any problems with slippage; I'll just point out that it's very easy to solve this problem by simply putting a rubber 'door mat' under the ramps to get added traction. In summary, I would highly recommended purchase of these ramps as they are a great deal.

First off, I used these for my 1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo, My 1994 Toyota Celica GT, and My Girlfriends 1998 Honda Civic LX. It is ALOT faster and easier to use than a jack. Just have someone watch you drive up them if your afraid of rolling off, I did it by myself and could feel when I needed to stop, it has little bumps or indicators you can feel so that you know when to stop. I was able to change my oil in about 20-30 minutes! Really made everything easy and thats really saying something when I am working on my Mr2 which has a mid-engine (engine located behind you not in front) and nothing is easy to fix or repair on that car lol, but it is a ton of fun to drive. These ramps are also STURDY! Its made of plastic but its hard like steel! They do NOT flex or bend when your car is parked on top of them and they make you feel safe! They also have rubber stoppers on the bottom of them to prevent them from sliding when you are driving onto them. It is a no brainer, if you want to do all of your own repairs or work that doesn't involve removing the tires then THESE RAMPS will make your life so much better!
