Q: Is NordicWare's nonstick coating PFOA & PTFE free?

According to their website NordicWare says: Our bakeware coatings are and have always been PTFE and PFOA-free, since an entirely different formulation is necessary to release sugars (associated with baking) than proteins (associated with meats and dairy). Our cookware coatings can be one of several formulations, depending on what substrate material they’re being applied to (cast aluminium versus aluminized steel). We are able to state that PFOA is not present in any of the coating formulations that we currently use on consumer cookware products. PTFE (an entirely different compound than PFOA) is the material that gives nonstick surfaces their ‘slipperiness’ and is widely used in consumer cookware coatings, including many of Nordic Ware’s stovetop cookware products.

Q: Can this be used on a glass top stove?

Yes. I have used it many times on my glass top stove.

Q: so this is not something to use when camping like over an open fire?

i use it perfectly above my gas stove. don't see the difference with a camp fire. may have to be cautious with the handle since it's plastic.

Q: I bought this a year ago, but lost the instruction pamphlet. Can anyone tell me how long I preheat on each side and the heat setting on the stove. Also, how much batter and for how long do I cook on each side. Thanks.

waffles are done any way they are made , when the steam stops coming out .. don't pay attention to the beep ! on the electric type.
