Dealing With Difficult Situations is Reality of Adulting
How do you avoid difficult situations at work and avoid them completely? You perhaps are thinking about that right now. Then the reality sits in that there really is no way to avoid difficult situations unless you hide in your office all day.Much like some people new to the work environment, I had no idea what I was doing. I jumped to conclusions and blamed people. If I fond someone was gossiping, I told them to take a hike. What I found out that I was doing was only making people hate me and avoid me. I made more enemies than friends. So what should you do? Well, a lot. For starters I should have approached situations of gossiping in a way that was less critical and open to hearing what they had to say. Most people are just angry and want to spout information at someone so they can get it off their chest. It can be as simple as you forgetting to file a piece of paperwork away which led to the employee rambling on about you to another employee.Talking to the person and listening to their thoughts will relieve your stress and their stress because you do not have to build stress all day about why they said what they did. You two can work on the situation as a team. Identify why you forgot to file the paper work... was it due to being too busy due to inadequate amount of people, not having a good spot, etc?Fixing difficult situations is more about being open to what people have to say and involving them as part of the team to solve the problem they have or issues they have with you by clearing up false information.

Great collection of talking points for business
The workplace carries its share of difficult situations and interpersonal conflicts. Finding the right words and thinking through the bigger picture of implications is something every manager struggles with as personalities, politics, and business demands make getting work done a challenge. This book contains many great examples of scenarios where precision in language is vital. While you can't predict every situation, the chapters are arranged in such a way that key categories help you pick and choose material that will help make your important and difficult conversations more effective.

Excellent service
This is a good book it will definitely help me in my day to day difficulties in the office and in my personal life. I wish I had it about 15 to 20 years ago. It would have saved me a lot of embarrassments and challenging moments, and how to handle them with confidence and dignity. But I guess it never too late to learn.

Useful
Easy to read. Not all phrases are that excellent, but there are a wide range of them, so you can choose to your comfort level, and anyway reading them gives ideas on structure to create your own. Very glad I bought several in this series. Well organized and big font too.

Saved my sanity when dealing with the inevitable
I work in, quite possibly, one of the lowest-stress environments ever, but even so, there are times when things get a bit too tense in the shop, and you need to defuse a potentially career-ending situation quickly and safely without unnecessarily hurting anyone's feelings. This e-book it just the ticket you need to deal with those problems that every work environment has.

I worked with someone who as basically a child in an adult body and certain words would be a trigger for that person. I was able to voice out my thoughts without escalating the situation.

Disappointing...
Not relevant for the administration personnel. Geared towards management and HR. Was hoping for more advice on dealing with co-workers.

Best reader yet on the subject
This book is perfect if you work in situations where you are called to either mediate disputes or to appease conflicting political strands. Pretty good also for a busy and varied social life!
