OREI 4x4 HDMI Matrix Switch – 4K@60Hz with Downscale, HDR, HDCP 2.2, EDID

I wanted a low cost HDMI switcher with an IR remote to control two different sources. The price on this unit was very attractive. I bought it and I have been extremely happy! It works just as advertised and also will allow me to send the same signal to both outputs! It seems to be handling any possible digital copy protection with no problem! Vreat functionality, no loss of picture quality or signal and it is very compact in size.

My application is a simple one that does not require anything super fast or high end picture quality. Works great in my RV setup with two 32 in HD TVs. HDMI cables were run to my front cabinet from both TVs with a DVD player in the cabinet. Added a FireTV stick and everything works great. Not sure if we would ever be watching multiple inputs at a time, but having the option is nice and not having to remove the rear TV to plug in another FireTV stick was well worth the purchase.

This HDMI matrix switch is a great solution if you need to route multiple HDMI sources to several displays. With four inputs and four outputs, it allows you to send any connected source to any display, which makes it very flexible for different setups. The switch supports 4K at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma, and the picture quality remained clear and stable during use. The downscaling feature is also useful because it allows 4K and 1080p displays to be used together without compatibility issues. The included remote control makes switching sources quick and convenient. Once everything is connected, it works reliably and makes managing multiple HDMI devices much easier. Overall, this is a solid HDMI matrix if you need a flexible way to route multiple video sources to several displays.

Great unit that worked flawlessly for 5 months and then became completely unresponsive, devoid of all signs of life. No power surges or bad weather contributed to its demise. It just dropped offline. I verified the power brick was still supplying 12V DC and reached out to OREI support to see if they could help. After verifying my purchase, I got an email from OREI asking me to ship the unit back to them (at my cost) for repair or replacement along with a provided pdf that outlined the repair request and reference number. They were very apologetic for the inconvenience. Shipping (with $700 Insurance) was ~$40 via UPS ground. Luckily, I still had the original packaging. As soon as they received my unit, they shipped a brand new UHD-808 to me. I installed it and it's working fine so far! I also saw a card in the package for a free extended warranty, which is a nice touch.

Purchased for our church in order to display song slides from our computer to 3 outputs: TV, projector, and a live streaming encoder (ATEM Mini). Pretty simple set up. About as plug and play as you can get. And after a couple afternoons testing it and one Sunday service, I have not had any issues with it and does what I hoped it would do. Our projector screen is 4:3, so I have to resize our computer desktop to 1280x960 so it all fits on the screen. I was concerned the matrix might get screwed up by that, but it appears to work fine. Build quality seems pretty good. My only complaint is that the remote does not appear to work, but that's fine as I don't really need it. Also, two thumbs up for customer service. When I first set the matrix up, it was not mirroring the computer and would only display when I started a slideshow with PowerPoint. I emailed OREI customer service and within a day they had gotten back to me. I had forgotten to ensure that my computer was mirroring. It had auto-selected to extend the display. I selected mirror and everything showed up as it should. Also, there appear to be many videos from OREI on YouTube to assist as well info on their website. Pretty happy so far for a piece of equipment just over $100.

Functionally, this was able to give me the setup I was looking for with the 4x4. Though it is extremely finicky in my opinion to make sure you've got the right output profile matched up. But, with a lot of tinkering you will get it. My BIGGEST issues though are (1) There is NO POWER BUTTON ON THE DEVICE itself. This became a big issue for me when I was having issues with my remote control. I had to fix the remote to be able to turn the device on and off. What the heck? (2) The remote has a very weak IR emitter. My couch is about 20 feet from my devices and the OREI is the ONLY device that struggles to receive the IR emission from its remote. I often have to get up and walk closer just to get it to receive the signal, whereas no other device I have has this issue... and there's no way a universal remote can mimic the complexity of the OREI's remote. I REALLY wish they did NOT CHEAP OUT on the remote. Not to mention, when I unpacked the remote the plastic button for the power button was not even pushed in properly on the remote. So... relatively good unit with absolutely horrible remote.

I bought this unit to be able to switch output from a Roku Stick and a PS4 to a television set and a set of Rokid Max AR glasses. The output works perfectly on the television set, however for some reason, the glasses are not working with whatever signal this unit is putting out. The glasses work correctly if the output from either the Roku Stick or the PS4 are connected directly to the glasses, but not the output of this unit. I have tried switching the cables around in all possible configurations to make sure that the cables and unit connections all work correctly, which they do. It's unfortunate because this seems to be a high quality piece of equipment. The case is metal with high quality markings, the LED's are nice and bright, and the remote functions perfectly. I have tried to contact tech support, but so far, have been unsuccessful. I gave the unit three stars because I feel that is a neutral score. If the issue can be resolved, I will gladly give the unit five stars. UPDATE: The seller saw my review and reached out to me to discuss my issues with their product. After some investigation, they determined that their unit is not compatible with the Rokid Max AR glasses that I was trying to use it with. As a result, the asked me to return the unit and they will give me a full refund. They even sent a shipping label so that I would not have to pay the return shipping. I am increasing my review to five stars because it is a nice, well made unit with a lot of features, and it worked flawlessly with my TV set, just not with the glasses.

I have this unit full with 4 signal inputs to 4 different TVs. The signals are well amplified so one source can feed all l4 units without loss. Switching can take a few seconds with signal loss, but the establishes the new signal source. These include 2 TIVO units, a TIVO 4K stick, and a wireless HDMI extender from laptop. TVs include 25" up to 60", all receiving a justified picture and perfect sound from the designated source. It has resulted in a huge upgrade to our entertainment system.

Good product.Easy connectivity but unable to control the volume of the sound bar after connecting it to optical out,other than that it works pretty good.

I use it for a document camera and a computer input and 2 projectors for outputs. This switch had improved how I teach in class. A benefit to the students.

Manages Cable box, Firestick, Chromecast and PC input and 2 Tv's, 1 AVR and a Projector Output. Downscales to 1080P for the projector and passes Atmos sound. I am using Harmony Hub to control so quality of the remote is not that important and the fact it is already in Harmony's database is a plus. So why not a perfect score? I have a Toslink digital audio switcher feeding my AVR and a remote code for that device conflicts with one of the codes on the UHD-404. That causes my picture to briefly blackout every time I switch audio sources. My workaround is running an IR blaster from my Harmony to this device and covering the IR window so the codes don't inadvertently change. Why manufacturers use the same codes seems stupid/crazy to me but my LG and Vizio TV's use the same power code, so I need another IR Blaster to solve that issue as well. ***I have upgraded the device to a 5 stars. Has performed flawlessly and the remote code is a non factor once set-up****** In any case, device switches in a second or 2 and downscales perfectly. All in all, very happy that it does what I need it do do. I will be looking forward to an affordable 8k version of this that still can downscale to 1080P WITH unique IR codes.
