PLAYTEX Women's Wireless Bras for Women - 18 Hour No Underwire Bra - Side & Back Smoothing - Full Coverage

Here's the thing: womens' breasts are all so different - in size, shape, distribution; weight; composition. So no bra is ever going to get rave reviews from everyone. For my 55-year old breasts, this bra fits well and gives me comfort and reasonable support without an underwire. I HATE underwires. I've tried many, many kinds and they all hurt - "comfortable underwire" is an oxymoron! In my experience, this bra holds up my less than perky girls with a thick band below the cups. This bra helps corral the side breast tissue that most older women tend to get, especially if they've had kids and the wide back helps smooth the dreaded back fat bulge. When you put the bra on, lean forward and kind of scoop all the breast tissue inside the cups. The high sides help hold everything in place and don't rub. I feel I have a nice shape in this bra, natural not uni-booby. But beware - it is NOT padded (although it is made from a fairly thick fabric and is not see-thru, at least not in the beige color), so if the temperature gets chilly, you may get a bit of nipple showage (unwanted? desired? depends...), so I recommend using those nipple covers (the silicone ones work great and are comfortable) if you expect cool temps and don't want the resulting effects. The sizing for me was a bit tricky. In my mind, I'm still that youthful 34B, but in reality, I'm now a 36 D or DD, depending on the bra. However, finding a 36DD is near impossible in most bras. The 38D, hooked on the highest set, seems okay for now. I have tried on many, many, many bras in my search for the perfect one (thank you Amazon for free returns!). What I really want is something like hairspray for boobs - arrange them just like you want then presto - they'll stay just where you put 'em! Or maybe a shrink wrap type of thingy (breathable, of course) that wraps and holds the perfect shape. But alas, until that day comes, I've at least found a workable solution that is supportive, comfortable, provides a nice shape and is not expensive.

Best bra ever! This bra fits perfectly. It is so comfortable. The design is great and it helps keep me dry. I ordered more because I got rid of all my other bras.

As an experienced veteran of the "Bra Wars", I have been there done that with almost every style of bra you can imagine. Most of them have been very uncomfortable, poor fitting, and costly mistakes. This one is head and shoulders above the rest and it is the best bra I have ever owned. It is comfortable, supportive, attractive to look at and good fitting. In my younger days, I could only dream of a bra that I could put on and forget that I am wearing it. All day long, I feel relaxed and supported and at night when I get undressed, I find that my bra is still in place with no sagging in the front, no bulging and spilling out the top, no straps that slide down my arms, and no riding up in the back! It is soft, breathable and absolutely perfect.... Well ALMOST PERFECT! I have ONE COMPLAINT. NOT ENOUGH COLORS. Do you see the line up of nice colors in the ad???? Well, apparently, pretty colors are ONLY for small chested women. Those of us with DDD cups have to settle for white, black or nude. The pretty pinks and browns are seldom available in larger sizes. ***Sigh!*** If this bra was available in a wide variety colors that came in MY SIZE, it would be a 5+ star rating. But as it is, I cannot find great colors in my size, and the color selection for this bra in any size at all is very limited. I recently found it on Amazon in a rare Duchess Rose, and I snagged it up as fast as I could because I saw that there was only 1 available in my size. Now, I check back every single day to see if I can score one in brown. I'm not holding my breath, though. Playtex! Hear This! How about making the 4049 in red? in sapphire blue? in teal? in peach? in lime green? in a floral or a leopard print? Why consign us big girls to wear bras in BORING colors or else drive us to Lane Bryant to buy their Cacique "Torture Bras" with wires that impale us and backs that slide up to our necks? I don't ask much in life, but a 4049 in a pretty aqua and green color scheme would be more luxury that I could ever hope for. When that happens, I promise to come back here and give this product the 5 star rating that it really deserves!

Update: the new band and cup size fit (36D) really well and I was very much looking forward to finally having a bra that worked for me. One of the features I liked about this bra was that the band came down a little lower on the torso. However, this turned out to be its downfall. It is beautiful and comfortable at first. BUT, the band kept rolling up and the strap supports moved/did not stay in place, so everything rolled over and ultimately gave very little support. Unfortunately, this is not the bra for me and I return to the hunt. Original review: I found the cup size too small and the band size too large (38C), so I returned it and ordered a 36D. The bra was nice and light and comfortable, as expected. I was just disappointed that I had to deal with return and a reorder, but Amazon made that relatively pain-free. I hope the adjustment in size will do the trick. The order came in record time and I was pleased with how much I liked not having an underwire.

I have been wearing this model for years and couldn’t find it anywhere for awhile. It is both attractive and comfortable. Only wish that it came in black as well.

Before I ordered this I double checked the size on the Playtex Store that was listed with the product. It said that I should order the size that I did order, which is the size I needed. Well, I tried it on and I could not even hook it on the first set of hooks that was on the outer part of the band, and that band was very tight. So, I guess these run a lot smaller than I was expecting. I even checked the size in the band it was said the size that I had ordered.

So glad there are still the good old names to rely on, good fitting , comfy

First, I want to say that I have been an underwire girl my entire life never thinking anything less than a straight jacket could hold my 40ddd lovelies in place. But I had grown tired of the harshness of underwire bras; rushing to take off my bra for relief at the end of the day, and started looking for wirefree options. It took me at least a week of searching, reading reviews and looking at review pictures( thank you to the ladies that provide pics)to bite the bullet and order with no hopes of any wirefree bra providing support, comfort, seperation or a natural look. I put this bra on the second it arrived, not washing first as I usually do and expected disappointment. ***BRA REVIEW*** OMG!!! - The girls fit perfect side, front and underneath with a natural rounded shape, and actually hit the pretty close to the position they were in pre- pregnancy and age related sagging. - My breasts no longer look to my toes, but straight ahead with no more heavy low weight feeling. Perky...not so much, just natural placement. And NO UNI-BOOB! I was amazed that a wirefree bra could give as much support as a wired one and be more comfortable. - The bra was snug but not uncomfortable at the first clasps and relaxed some after a few minutes. - The shoulder straps did not dig in or feel like they were strained from carrying to much weight after an hour of wear. - The cups were smooth with double layered material. Not sure if the nips will show through, but my guess is it will be minimal if at all. - Its not made for low cut neck lines as it is legit "full coverage", but still allows for an ample area of chest reveal. - it minmized the gerth of my breasts but still offered the fullness and curviness I wanted to keep. Playtex was my first bra as a preteen( Im 55 now). I ventured to others that offered prettier versions as I got older. Funny I'm back to were I started. Trust me...this bra is worth the purchase or at least a try. I am officially wirefree!!!, and that says alot. For reference...I am 5'4 about 170lbs with broad shoulders. Not a thick woman, but not thin either. Comfortably fluffy is what I'd call it.

Ce model est devenu mon préféré . J' ai toujours acheté des soutiens gorges avec baleine , mais j'ai pris du poids et les baleines me rentraient dans la peau sous les bras . Avec ce model , c'est le confort ! La bretelle a une belle largeur et tien bien . Le tissu est doux et souple , et ni trop mince ni trop épais . Parfait !

Why is it so hard to find. If Playtex still sold in UK I would probably taken an E cup. This is good quality, thick but not padded supportive fabric and constructive. Lays well under t shirts no rucking or rippling. Even though a tad small I'm not bulging out the top. Extremely comfortable to wear. Shame the UK manufacturers think all customers who seek unwired bras still wear pettycoat slips and blouses! Thank you Playtex.
