Mercury, Money and the Markets: Profitable Planetary Cycles for Short-Term Astro-Trading

A reasonable treatise on the influence of the planet Mercury on the stock market. I am not sure that it will assist me make any money or not, so from that point of view I am in two minds about the outcome.

Unless you have in depth astrology background, the book is hard to understand.

5 outstanding reviews, some by financial astrology book writers, with expressions such as « ground-breaking masterpiece », « amazing », "definite edge in the dangerous and exciting game of stock trading", inside the book comments are made such as "a splendiferous job, it blew my mind"... is this book so great that no shortcomings can be pointed?Is it really ground breaking work, opening new territories? Backcover mentions "How to decipher the trading code in W.D.Gann Strangest book". Exciting ! Let's take a deeper look into the "dense jungle of complexity" that this book is supposed to be.The first few pages are about Mercury in the natal chart. No big deal but OK to read.Page 39-58 throw a few horoscopes of some financials events (including the Euro), with a few lines of explanations on each. Nothing struck me as particularly noteworthy.Page 59-77 show some wildly random angles (24°, 96°, 218°) between Mercury and other planets (including nonexistent ones, created by Witte and followers to account for events he could not explain, starting with timing of the bombing when he was in the trenches), supposedly indicating when the market will top or bottom. We have to take the author's words for granted, because just a few examples are provided over a short span of time.Page 79-104 are about Mercury Retro and its effect on people and world events, interesting, but not exactly new material.Page 105-128 show some stats (over which period ?) about the world indexes behavior during Mercury Retro. Any trader careless enough to use any of that to enter or exit the market will go broke quickly: "53.1% chances that SP500 will trade higher within 1 day after Mercury Retro in an air sign"... hey, what about flipping a coin ?Page 129-194 show a First trade chart of each the Dow 30, with some stats (over which period ?) about the stock behavior during Mercury Retro. Any trader silly enough to use any of that to enter or exit the market should be locked: "66% chances that ATT will trade higher within 1 day after Mercury Retro in a water sign"...right....Page 195-222 are the most interesting, on the Sun-Mercury conjunction repetition, although this was flagged by Jeanne Long in 1993 in the book "Universal Clock".The book practically stops at page 223, although it has 278 pages, the final 50 pages being some Ephemeris data extracts that anyone can get from Solar fire and a bit of spreadsheet skills.Is there a need to say more ?
