Use peel and seal which is the butal aluminum kind, and its way cheaper! Then use this padded deadener on top of that !!

You should be able to determine how many rolls you'd need by measuring the interior area you want to cover then comparing it to the roll size (which I believe is in the product description) As for temperature control I don't think this product is thick enough to have an impact on that.
