Loud and defective :/
UPDATE: So I decided to return the wheel and get a replacement. The only issue was that this seller had none available on Saturday so I ordered replacement through another seller and started return process through this seller. Today, as I pulled up at UPS and did a search in my email for the return code, I noticed this seller had reached out to me for a photo of the wheel and cap and was offering to work with me as far as a replacement goes. For reaching out to me, I'm upgrading my rating to a 4. The new wheel already arrived and sadly, wasn't much better...and also was missing the advertised yellow cap. So I'm starting to wonder if the issue is with the cap not tightening enough or a combination of the cap and hole and bolt. Couldn't find a washer to insert inside the depression on the backside of the wheel that would also fit over threads of bolt so ended up finding a larger washer and inserting between the cap and wheel. This tightened the setup enough that it wobbled less. I then found one of those pads that adhere to the legs of furniture to prevent scraping and attached that to the glass aquarium behind the wheel. Don't love that as the pads we have are brown and contain dye but until I can find a better solution, the pad/washer combo have given me peace while I sleep. The wheel is relatively silent. Though for the price I paid, I'm a little annoyed that I have to rig with hardware and insert a potentially harmful pad into the setup to achieve what the box promises. But considering the 2nd wheel had the same issues as the first...and the same missing piece, I'm inclined to believe this is a quality control issue on the manufacturer's end and not the seller's. Hopefully seller will contact manufaturer and inform them that while some wheels do seem to be silent OOB, many are not. I also want to note that when I held the new wheel stand next to the original I ordered from this seller, that one seemed to be straighter whereas this one leaned forward a bit. Perhaps that lean and how it affected the way the wheel rested also contributed to the noise from the back hitting the tank and the bottom hitting the stand with every turn. ORIGINAL POST: This is my third wheel ...bought one for my daughter''s Syrian and the smaller size for my other daughter's mice. The small one is silent...love it. The larger one for my other daughter's hamster is silent when I spin it but makes a little nouse when Buttercup is on it from wobbling. It's not terrible though and my daughter sleeps right through it. So i never bothered to take it apart. I was so jealous of my daughters' rodents, I went out and got a hamster for myself haha Naturally, I wanted a silent wheel and figured the little noise Buttercup's wheel makes was probably just a freak thing. My wheel arrived on Monday. For one, it was missing the little yellow cap that both my daughters' came with but a black cap was included so I was content enough with that. I put it together the same as I did the others; it's not exactly hard. Or so I thought. For the life of me, couldn't get it right where it doesn't wobble. I needed a wheel for my boy so I figured I'd try it but gosh, it's loud! Every turn has the wheel hitting legs of stand which causes whole stand to wobble and knock on tank. I pulled it apart and noticed that the screw that inserts inside the hole in the wheel takes on a square form at the base. I believe this square portion is supposed to fit inside the square hole entirely....which would cause the larger, rounder elevated part behind it to fit inside the depression on the back of the wheel. But the square portion doesn't fit inside the square hole...no matter which way I try to insert it. The hole is too small or the square is just not square enough to slide in. Regardless, that pushes the whole mechanism out and I can't tighten it to where it is flush...hence the wobbling. I figured I'd buy another and return this one but they are no longer available. Boo.

okay if you can stand the loud banging..
its okay..i bought this because the silent spinner doesn't come in 8"..the hamster loves it but i cant stand the stand being uneven and everytime he runs i hear loud banging from the stand hitting the floor of the cage..i tried to attach the wheel to the back of the cage and i had to bend the bars to even make it fit through and then after that, it won't move..i'm at a loss. i wasn't looking to be spending a lot of money on a wheel but now i think i will be finding the wodent wheel. ive also been trying to manipulate the stand to be even on all sides but that is killer on your hands. save your money and just get a wodent wheel. atleast with those you know they are a name brand and have been around for awhile. hope this helps for anyone.UPDATE: I found a hack to make this wheel silent. Put a sock under the stand and bam! The noise is gone! For how long will it be silent, i do not know but i am happy i dont have to spend even more money on a wheel right now :)

Works but with some issues !
I love the wheel, it's definitely one of the better silent wheels out there! However, does have some issues with it. The first two days my hammie went on it, she loved it! The wheel ended up falling off though, it literally unscrewed from the knob on the inside and it came clean off. Luckily she wasn't hurt, but it gave her a scare! We're sure to tighten it everytime it sounds a little wobbly.Another issue is that the stand itself isn't even durable enough to hold the wheel without it tipping over. We've tried to put weights on the stand to have it not fall over but it doesn't work well. Eventually just put it on the cage, and that seems to work fine. All in all, solid wheel. And it definitely does the job when needing to be silent!

Good Wheel for Syrians
I bought this wheel for my Syrian hamster as I could not find a wheel of the appropriate size in pet stores near me. It arrived quickly and works well, although it took me a while to figure out how to put it together as there were no instructions included. Once it was put together, my hamster loves it. While it looks like a silent spinner, just a forewarning, it is not entirely silent though it is much quieter than any pet store wheel you can buy. I find that the yellow center piece over time becomes loose, and when it does, more noise ensues. Luckily, that is easily fixed by re-tightening that piece periodically. Ultimately, I would recommend it. Once you get past the frustrating assembly, it works well!

Low quality, has a crack, makes noise.... but my hamster doesn't mind.
The wheel does make noise, but thats because the support is too weak and so it bangs against the wire cage. To fix this, i have stapled a sock around the wires to keep it from making noise. Also, there is a small crack in the center on the white plastic. I think its from the little yellow knob being turned too tight, but it still shouldn't crack. I've had it for less than 1 month. On the bright side, my hamster loves it. He's a syrian hamster, and the wheel that came with the cage was forcing him to arch his poor little back. This fits him much better and he loves running on it. It's easy to clean and assemble, and honestly there are so few wheels this size on the market that even with all the downsides, I'm still satisfied. Wouldn't buy again though. Next time I think I'll splurge on a Wodent Wheel, but this does the job for now.

So far so good
Me and my Syrian hamster like this wheel. His old one broke so we needed a new one, and this is the only nice one I found that’s not too big or too small. The first time I ordered it, it was missing a piece, so I sent it back and got a new one (which was perfectly fine). I’ve had it for about two months now and it still works and spins just fine. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone without a platform to put it on, since it rests very low to the ground and can’t be adjusted to go higher.
