These measure out to be 7.9mm. I needed them to fit a 8mm inside bore bearing. I will use them for other projects but buyer beware these are not truly 8mm diameter rods.

The length you buying is not the usable length. You will need to cut the ends yourself as they are deformed due to a way how those rods were cut, that will leave you with 10-15 mm less. Actual size for 5mm I bought was 4.98 +/- 0.01. I am really disappointed, I needed 150mmm shafts and bought 150mmm, all shafts I bought in the past (different supplier) had nice finished ends, and they were ready to use. Surprisingly, rating for that product is 4.5 so I skipped reading reviews, big mistake.

Like other reviewers have observed, you'll need to cut 4-5mm off of each end as they are definitely stamped when cut.The ends are oval and burred and can't be used out of the package.diameter isn't consistent throughout, but still within tolerances.

Bought these and some 608 bearings to use on them. The bearings are consistent on the ID but will not fit on these shafts. These rods are 8.02mm in some spots but they are nice and straight and the ends are not messed up like I was reading on some of the others listed for sale. Would recommend these if you do not need exact tolerances. So far, I have been pleased with the quality of all of the Uxcell products that I have purchased in the past and these are no exception as I was still able to do what I needed with them with some minor adjustments to the design to compensate for the slight inconsistencies.

I bought these rods to make axels for my 3D printed vehicles. They all seem to be perfectly straight and just need to be shortened to fit and cut easily with my Dremel. If you need rods for this type of project i recommend them.

Both ends of each rod is crushed. Also noticing that I have 5mm bearings and gear couplers etc. my calipers read everything at 4.8 and the rods in the center at 4.9mm. Wondering what is typical. Would assume 5mm is 5mm. Rods being 4.9 would actually seem logical so maybe 20 bearings and 5 gear couplers are wrong.Update. After cutting an end off first I can say it’s hard metal. It does fit on the gear couplers, and it’s a very tight fit on the bearings. For my application this works well. The damage on the end of the rods/tooling mark can be removed by cutting 4mm of each end.
