xxxHOLiC: Tuko Earrings

I'd ordered the earring thinking "Oh mai gawd! I didn't know they actually made her earrings!" so I ordered it. When the package came it arrived on time, and the packaging was great, but It was only one earring. I dealt with the slight disappointment considering I pay for anime jewelery quite often. (There's a store in a local mall nearby me) I took the earring out and found out that-the chain holding the earring was a flimsy plastic-the chain is seriously glued to the back of the moon, so if the earring turns, it's not too appealing-the cuff's edges were really sharp-some of the coating/paint on the moon was chipped offOther than the flaws it's still wearable. I don't wear it too often, but I do once and a while. I'd fixed a few of the problems, but it, in my opinion, wasn't really worth $10.

I loved my Yuko ear cuff (yes, it is spelled wrong in the title), and wore it as often as possible. The edges of the cuff were a little pointed, so adding a dot of clear nail polish or sanding them down was very helpful for a first-time cuff. The metallic finish on the crecent did chip off once, but only looked more matte/satin, so I didn't mind. Eventually, the chain did snap when it was placed in a bag and taken out when it was snagged, and as it was a small, delicate stalk-and-ball chain attatched to both of the metal pieces, could not be repaired. Still, it lasted me several years, and I always wore it with glee.

This was a present for someone who is really into the show. I can't speak for how accurately it represents the earring in question, but as a cosplayer I can say that the quality is awesome and the packaging is cute. I like the holder for the earring. It should be a big hit with any xxxHolic fan.

There is a really crappy electroplating that may or may not be on the moon by the time you get it. Be careful taking it out of the package since that act alone broke the first one I received. The replacement they sent is not much better. You may be thinking $10 is worth it. It isn't. I won't be caught with this hunk of stuff dangling weirdly off my ear.

I always seem to lose these. I've purchased two, both fell off unknowingly. Shaping it any tighter would have been painful.

Fits comfortably and is one of my favorite ear cuffs to wear when I'm feeling fancy or just feel like wearing it.

It is cute and got here fast.
