Would you recommend this chair for 8-10 hours per day/5 days per week sitting in front of the computer?

This chair is very well made sturdy and looks great, with that said 8-10 hours per day one might be uncomfortable, as it has no cushion.

Can someone tell me, please, the actual seat width, measured inside arm to inside arm. Thanks!

Where the vertical part of the arms attach to the seat is 19-5/8".

how to you tighten the arm that attaches to back of the chair?

If the chair was assembled properly you will have wooden pegs or plugs that cover the screws that you are looking for. Remove the plug find the screw.

Does it come in white, with arms?

nope it only comes in fruitwood and in espresso. you can see the fruit wood here http://www.amazon.com/Office-Star-105FW-Bankers-Chair/dp/B0039MIMYM/ref=sr_1_18?m=A245F2RT47CYZG&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1388583618&sr=1-18and if you want to see it in white with no arms here is the link to it http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Armless-Wood-Bankers-Chair/dp/B0039MIMZQ/ref=sr_1_15?m=A245F2RT47CYZG&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1388583710&sr=1-15

2 good points and 1 bad point

Good points:1. It was a nice present from my wife and son in the wake of my retirement and the need for a new chair to replace the one I have worked on for a decade.2. The supplier returned the money without hesitation.Bad points:1. It arrived with both arms broken at the joint.
