Do you have to shut these down when your not using the computer? ie Do they go into a low power mode with no input?

Kevin,It's best to turn these off as they do not have a standby mode like our YU3, YU5, or YUMI speakers. You can turn them on or off by using the volume control on the rear of the speakers. If you have any other questions feel free to contact us directly at support@kantoliving.com

Can I use the 3.5mm input & USB DAC simultaneously? I'd like to play music from my iPod (via 3.5mm) while also hearing sounds from my PC via USB.

Chase,You can have two devices connected to the YU2's at the same time using USB and AUX. Since you don't have to choose which input is playing both sources can actually play at the same time. Our speakers should work well for the situation you've described. Contact us directly using the support button on our site if you have any other questions, thanks.

Can I just plug these into my computer or do I need extra equipment like an amp? I can't find a thorough review or unboxing anywhere. Thanks

No amp required: the amp built into the left speaker. It comes with everything needed to connect to almost any computer. They sound very nice. Better than 99% of computer speakers. For music, you probably want to add a powered subwoofer.

What subwoofer can I use for these speakers?

Richie,Any powered subwoofer that can accept an RCA input will work. Contact us directly using the support button on our site if you have any other questions, thanks.
