Easy to set up and great picture.
After a little research and reading a few reviews I decided on this projector for home movie nights and sports events. The projector arrived quickly and safely from Amazon.Being the type of person I am I unboxed it, plugged it in, connected a dvd player via HDMI and played a movie straight away(Terminator 3, since you asked). It was the middle of the day in a north facing room with the light on, in July and it was immediately apparent that projectors have come a long way in the 20 years since I've used one.I turned off the light and shut the blind and was very impressed with the brightness of the picture, the colours and the sheer size of the image. The projector was 3.3 metres from the wall and the image was huge, about 3 metres across diagonally. As for the actual picture quality, well I was using a £29 DVD player and an old movie do it wasn't the best, I then hooked it up to the satellite receiver, again very easy through the HDMI port, selected a HD channel and stepped back in amazement, what a difference.Selecting the picture modes is easy on the remote and in the dark I found the movie or game modes to be good for me,the cinema and bright cinema modes are amazing but a bit full on for our small room, I'll be using them for outdoor movie nights though as the darker evenings come. Some reviews have mentioned the fan noise, well, unless you're watching snooker in bright cinema mode you won't notice it, in game mode it's very quiet and you won't hear it over whatever you're watching. The sound from the built in speakers is ok but will sound better when you connect it to your JBL or soundbar, I use a JBL and it's great. In summary it was very easy to set up without even reading the instructions, which I still haven't read, the keystone settings are obvious as is the rest of it, there's lots of adjustment for colour and contrast for those that think they know what they're doing but I leave it alone as it looks great to me anyway. There maybe better projectors out there but this is from a name I trust, at a price I can afford and performs better than I could have hoped for.

Good entry level projector
This is the first projector I have owned so I am definitely not an expert with these things, however, we were all very impressed with the Epsom TW740.Have only used it for a few hours so far, so only time will tell how good it really is, but on first impressions I recommend this highly as an entry level film projector. The image quality is very good, we were projecting on to a light blue wall, which seemed to work very well, we didn’t notice a blue tinge to whites (but it must’ve been there). We used it late evening when it was dark and the projection was very bright, would probably work during the day providing that blinds/curtains were shut. It is also worry mentioning that this (TW740) DOES have a 3.5mm audio jack, although it’s stereo only. There are some cons that will be a dealbreaker for lots of people. There’s no optical zoom and no lens shift. Our front room is a weird shape, allowing us to get the projector far enough from the wall, without having to move all the furniture, but to fill the wall it’s over 3.5m back. The fan also runs quite loud, again, for us, this makes little difference but I imagine it would be annoying if you were sat immediately behind the unit. This is obviously not the absolute best projector on the market, but if you’re like us and just want a projector to watch a film or some sports on the weekend, then, providing you can get the setup right, this is a brilliant projector at this price!

Great projector for the price..
Great projector for the price point. The focus is a little fiddly but when you get it right the picture is clear. Colours are rich and contrast fab. I can watch a film in daylight as the lumens are fab. The best thing about this projector is that it's super quiet!! All in all a good purchase, I'm very happy with it!!

This doesn't have black levels..
... it has grey levels! It's effectively useless as a home cinema projector. I purchased this some three months ago but I was so horrified at the inability of this projector to produce a decent black that I returned it after about five days of fiddling with the settings. To be fair the Epson produces a nice detailed image with good colours but this really does feel like a tv where the brightness setting has been turned up to near maximum and you've got no way to turn it down again. I'm not kidding with this. Even when I did turn the Epson's brightness setting down it made virtually no perceptible difference. To call it frustrating would be a serious understatement! In the end I just couldn't get on with this projector. If you're OK with blacks that look milky grey then this could be the projector for you. Otherwise this is best avoided. FWIW, after a bit of research my replacement was the similarly priced M2 Viewsonic which turned out to be a staggeringly great projector and one I very highly recommend.

Crystal clear picture - sound not great
My first projector and can gladly say I am completely satisfied. In fact picture comes out better than expected, even set up at an angle and to the left of the room. Only thing is the internal speakers are not up to the job so you need to connect to external speakers/sound system. Not much connectivity (only 1 hdmi) but I knew that before I purchased as I have connected to a av system that does what I need. Overall excellent product. Would recommend

nearly perfect!
I got it 1 week ago and id say it's all I want! Easy to set up. Response quickly. Close in 1 sec. Not too noisy when functioning. I'm projecting from ~3.3m so the picture size is just perfect. I also had low expectations towards its speaker but that one is not too bad. Can be clearly seen in the daytime. Would be 100% perfect if it's cheaper. But we're all good so far.
