HerePow Hotel in-Wall WiFi Panel with USB Interface, Switch with Network Cable Interface, Used in Home, Hotel, Office

I haven't been able to fit this yet as it needs a full depth back box in the wall and mine are all just the medium depth type.Having looked at the unit, it is very well made with a well fitted RJ45 socket and powered USB type A socket for charging your devices.Fitting once I have the required back box looks very straight forward, it just wires up the same as with a standard wall mains socket with the addition of another socket for the RJ45 LAN cable to plug into the back.As far as colours of the wires, just remember that in the UK with modern wiring, brown = Live , blue = Neutral and green/yellow = Earth , the symbols on the back of the unit are clear enough to see where to secure the correct wires.The WiFi part of it simply sets up as any WiFi extender unit would. Just connect to your WiFi on the 2.4ghz band and link the device, it is very simple but if you have never done this before then the instructions do guide you through it in a straight forward manner.I also like the addition of an on / off switch so that you can isolate the unit easily if you ever needed to.This is a nice and simple way to extend your network into those hard to reach corners of your home that might not get a very good signal and you also have the option to charge a USB device at the same time.Just remember that you will need a RJ45 LAN cable fed into the back of a 50mm socket box.Nicely made unit,Recommended.

A friend has one of these in-wall Wi-Fi panels and it looked so cool I just had to get one for myself. It certainly looks the part if you like technology with its crisp and clean panel and blue flashing lights.Set up is easy. Wire it to your socket (get help if you are not an electrician) and connect it to your phone under the WLAN sections in your settings. This will give you a decent wireless or wired functionality in the office with the added bonus of being able to charge your phone at the same time.The Wifi COULD be faster and more reliable, but for this price, it's a sure bargain

I chose this without realising that it needs a mains power supply. In order to use it, it has to be set into the wall and wired. I’m not confident or competent enough with electrical wiring to start messing around with my mains supply. The instruction leaflet supplied states that it needs to be installed by a professional and to turn off the mains supply.I’m not convinced that the item is suitable for installation by someone without any electrical knowledge, so if you buy this and wish to use it, you’ll have the additional expense of installation.The back of the unit is deep and it’s not likely to fit any standard socket space, so you’ll also need to gouge out some plaster. The instructions for use supplied are very limited and even if I’d managed to install the router, I don’t think I’d have been able to set it up without help. So that’s a further additional cost for a techie to get it up and running.This item us a non starter for me and because of concerns over electrical safety, I can’t give it any more than a single star.

This device can be tremendously useful but there are reservations. First what can it do? When connected properly it gives you the choice of charging anything that can be charged via a USB socket. It offers LAN and wireless connectivity. So far so good - BUT:It is relatively deep and may not fit into existing wall sockets.Why oh why did they not make this double gang and retain the 13 amp socket - if you fit this in your existing single socket - you lose it!Finally a word of caution - I do not know what colour wires they use in China but here in the UK we use BROWN for live (used to be RED) and BLUE for neutral (used to be BLACK) GREEN/YELLOW is EARTH (used to be GREEN) the picture shown in the set up instructions show a GREEN wire labelled "Null" they mean this to be the NEUTRAL wire (BLUE) NOT GREEN - EARTH! Very silly mistake to make and potentially dangerous and it would not work correctly. Be warned. This is why only TWO stars

Unfortunately I have not installed this in my house as of yet because the unit housing is too deep where my old Phone connector socket was meaning I cant give a good review of this. That said it looks good and I am really excited to install it in our new house when we move as I will be more inclined to spend the time required to install it properly.

It comes boxed, with clear installations instructions, if you installed a socket before, should not be a problemThe back box needs to be purchased separately as it doesn’t come with one, it is a square of approx 8.5 cmThe router is on the 3rd floor and I live on the ground floor, the wifi signal was very weak as the house has thick concrete walls, therefore ordered this socketAs soon as it was installed and Ethernet cable connected, my phone and pc connected automatically, no other password required if devices were connected before to the networkThe signal is much better than using a wifi booster, pc, phone and tv all connected with no issues and good signalThe usb port can be used to charge any devices which is goodOverall very pleased, it solved an issue I had many years ago, would recommend
