Before going to use these in situ, I tested on a drum of Cat 6. The length was 48 metres and the CCTV picture was no good, with a 'ghost' image appearing. This was 8MP Hikvision TVI.However, I decided to take the baluns to site and try them, because I knew the lengths of cable installed were a fair bit less than 48m. I also wasn't sure if the fact that the cable I tested was spiralled on a drum would have an adverse affect.Anyway, as it happened, they worked fine on site. The max length of cable I used these on must have been about 20 metres or so. It was pre-existing cable so am not 100% sure what spec. But it was outdoor approved so well insulated and probably solid copper conductor as it was me who supplied it originally and that's generally all that I use.I also tried the same baluns on another make 8MP camera using the TVI standard and the picture was not good. However, I cannot possibly put this down to the balun on that sole basis, as I had not tested the camera itself outside of this installation. I ended up switching that camera to AHD 5MP and it was fine. Also, I used the baluns on two other shorter runs to 5 MP cameras and the picture was absolutely fine.So I am glad I purchased these but I would be wary on longer runs. One really needs to test everything as much as possible before hand. There are many variables which can affect the effectiveness and quality of the installation (cable grade, resistance, power etc).

I used for 1080p cameras in the project. But apart of this I tested with 8Mp HDCVI Camera connected by 80mt cat 5e cable.
