I've used this many times now to test both a 12v regular battery in my Miata and a 12v AGM battery in my Lexus SUV. I marvel at how quick and easy it is to hook this up and get to the results. The screen is bright, easy to read, and summarizes everything I need to know in one nicely composed screen. I also appreciate that it is powered off the car's battery so no other batteries are needed to make it function. It appears to be a quality-made item that I think will be very durable and long lasting. Highly recommend.

The MOTOPOWER MP0515A 12V battery tester is an excellent tool for checking battery health. Setup is easy. Simply connect the clamps to the appropriate terminal on the battery and it powers on immediately. The color screen is bright and easy to read and clear menus that make operation intuitive even for a first-time user. I tested it on several batteries ranging from small mower batteries to larger automotive ones (100–2000 CCA range), and the readings were consistent. It quickly shows voltage, CCA, and battery condition. This is a solid tester that is beginner/user friendly. Pleased with the purchase and giving it 5 stars.

Awesome little tester works great, it’s portable and versatile, also really easy to use, seems to be pretty durable, monitoring is easy to read, came with instructions and a carrying case. I’m happy with my purchase and I didn’t have to spend a fortune for a tester.

I like it for the cost and some features, but one issue. I had a vehicle that had parasitic current draw draining a fairly new battery. The tester as expected showed a very low state of charge. It had a comment that said “Replace battery”. I have a small battery trickle charger, so I hooked it up for several hours. After testing with this product after a limited charge it showed 75% life of the battery! Another few hours and 92%. The product doesn’t show if the battery will accept a charge, it just says replace. It is still an ok diagnostic tool, but don’t expect a true battery health test. Charge the battery then recheck it.

This unit is easy to use. The on-screen directions are easy to follow and direct. It provides all the information one would need to know about one's battery and charging system. Great value for the money. Seems to be well built and accurate. I liked it so much I bought one for my son.

I have tested many car and truck batteries in the past with a standard multi meter and believed that if I got a 12 volt readout from the test my battery was still good but the voltage reading is just a portion of the information you really need. This tester goes way beyond a basic multi meter by allowing you to check CCA cold cranking amps and remaining battery life. The tester is easy to operate and comes with a good user manual that includes 4 different types of battery tests including the standard start, charging, and wave view tests. Setup was easy and it also has a handy print function. The unit itself has a quality feel to the case, nice display screen and soft touch buttons. The cables are pliable and the terminal clamps are firm but open smoothly. For the price I paid for this tester I couldn’t be happier.

Ho aspettato a scrivere la recensione di questo prodotto che abbiamo comprato quasi un anno fa e lo abbiamo utilizzato più volte. E' un ottimo prodotto. Ha veramente molte funzioni di cui le principali sono quella di verificare lo stato di salute della batteria e verificare se l'alternatore carica correttamente la batteria. Può anche fornire un grafico dell'andamento della tensione della batteria rispetto al tempo. Si accende collegandolo alla batteria che si vuole testare. Importante: prima di provare una batteria questa va caricata completamente. Consente di testare 5 tipi di batterie al Piombo: 1) Classiche acido liquido delle autovetture. 2) AGM Tablet: sono quelle a forma di box usate spesso per l'alimentazione dei servizi del camper o nei piccoli impianti solari 3) AG Winding: sono quelle che hanno una forma composta da vari cilindri tra loro accoppiati. 4) GEL 5) EFB sono quelle ad acido liquido, più costose perché hanno un particolare trattamento delle piastre, a volte installate sui mezzi dotati di start/stop. La sigla EFB viene riportata sull'etichetta della batteria. Scelto il tipo di batteria che si vuole testare va quindi impostata la capacità di spunto a freddo (CCA) tipicamente la corrente max che la batteria può fornire quando deve far partire il motore a freddo. Anche questo dato è riportato in Ampere (A) sull'etichetta della batteria e non va confuso con la capacità della batteria che è invece riportata in Ah. Ha correttamente rilevato che la salute della batteria originale della nostra macchina dopo 11 anni di onorato servizio era scesa al 30% dell'efficienza e infatti sotto 0° a volte non ce la faceva. Stesso discorso per la batteria di uno scooter che era scesa al 20% dell'efficienza. L'abbiamo provata sulla batteria AGM dei servizi del camper con capacità di 100Ah e CCA 800A. Batteria con tre anni di vita e trattata bene con cicli regolari di ricarica e desolforazione. Il test ce la da ancora al 100% di salute. Provata anche su una batteria (che ha un anno di vita e perfettamente funzionante) ad acido liquido della vettura, da da 95Ah e CCA 830A, anche su questa ci ha dato uno stato di salute del 100%. Peccato che il manuale sia solo in inglese. Comunque è un prodotto da 5 stelle. Perché penso che chi si mette a fare dei test sulla batteria e sull'alternatore sa cosa sta facendo e il manuale è dotato di molte immagini che aiutano a capire.
