Comfortable and functional pillow
I've been using this pillow for several weeks now and I really like it. The shape is perfect for resting between your thighs and putting a supportive buffer between your knee bones, and it's not too big. The width of it basically helps your thigh bones stay aligned straight with your hips. The pillow is firm enough to grip with your knees/thighs, but the plush blue outer cover material is super soft and comfortable to the touch. The strap is there if you feel you need to attach it to one leg, but I haven't found it necessary. It's easy to keep a light grip on it with your knees when you turn over.

Excellent for knee pain
I’ve had really bad knee pain and flair ups out of nowhere - the worst would make it almost impossible to walk. The worst was not being able to sleep at night due to the swelling, or causing more damage whilst unconscious. I hopped straight on for something to elevate and hold my knee in place. This was the cheapest well reviewed option in Amazon and I will say - I see why. Arrived really nicely presented in a plastic zip bag, smells like foam but really soft and well made. Whilst not easy to sleep with at first, the strap really helps keep it in the right place and kinda forced me to sleep properly with a bend in my knee. Works well for back sleepers and side sleepers - also used as a head rest when reading haha! Since using I have had a scan to find I Hoffas pad syndrome from hyper extension of my joints. Something I’m now getting physio, insoles and swim sessions for. This pillow is still really helping but my flair ups are rare which is great! Also 5 months in - no wear at all to the pillow, amazing. Not cheap cheap, but great for price.

Happy with my purchase
Being a side sleeper helps with a better sleep position, has also helped ease a lot of back pain. Nice and firm. Nice and soft.

Comfort and lets me sleep!!
This pillow has been great for me following a running knee injury, I can sleep a lot better using it as it gives the right support for my hips and knees whilst my injury heels. Good quality pillow and comfortable

Weak foam whete it needs to be strong, XL is tiny and offers little support
Firstly , I ordered the XL option, and its tiny. Secindly the foam is only firm on the edges, in the middle, which is 3 inches when you don't use it but about a few microns thick( very thin) when in use. If you have to skimp on material, surely the ends that sit outside of your knees would be the place, not the bit that is sipposed to support them. I have ended up wrapping the centre bit in a towel, putting all of that in a pillow case and then it has enough support. It's a shame, its a nice idea. It reminds me of those neck support pillows you get in a spa, the tiny ones. The outside material seems ok. And the vecro strap ( if you want to strap it to one leg, i assume so it doesn't disappear in the bed because that one strap doesn't actually hold it in place throughout the night) is a good thickness. It's not terrible from a construction point of view- stitching lioks good and mazerial cover isnt paper thin, it's just not going to support my knees / thighs and I personally feel it wont offer much support to most people, if you are a child or under 7 stone then maybe, but for me, at 8st5lb it compressed far too easily and as it is, leaves my knees , and therefore my hips, out of alignment to a point where I may as well not have it. I had hoped, if it was good ,to get one for my sister who is more voluptuous at 11st, but there is no way I am giving this to her when it crumples under my weight, I will keep searching.

10/10 product, highly recommend.
After being diagnosed with arthritis in my hips I kept waking in the mornings with numb hip pain. I usually sleep with a pillow between my legs but having to turn over in the night it was always a task. This pillow has honestly improved my sleep massively. I have zero hip pain, it keeps my spine in line with my hips and makes turning over easy because it’s just strapped to my thigh. It has a Velcro adjustable strap and is comfortable. I highly recommend this for any side sleepers! Especially those with hip and knee issues like me. 10/10

So far it is working for me
PACKAGING: Vacuumed packed in a clear plastic bag. PRODUCT: Memory foam knee pillow. FUNCTION: This came vacuumed packed but it did not take long for it to expand to its intended shape once opened. It appears well made. The memory foam is high density, meaning it is quite firm and the cover is plush. It comes equipped with a strap that is secured on one end via Velcro. I have very bad back pain, either sciatica or a herniated disc. I suspect this is aggravated by poor posture, particularly in bed as I tend to favor front sleeping, which I know is very bad. So I will literally try anything to alleviate the pain. However, I do not have the money to just throw at anything, so I purchased this having read some positive reviews (and with a degree of desperation). I found the leg strap (as it is) inadequate. The Velcro fastening is a little pointless. I just slip my leg in and out without unfastening the strap. Plus, the pillow does not stay in place during the night as the strap does not grip my leg sufficiently. I would have preferred to see an elasticated strap. I feel this would grip the leg better and accommodate different size legs. This also comes with a small business card that has a QR code which enables you to access the e-book. I did not find the literature very useful. The only useful information I obtained was that you should sleep on the effected side - so if you have pain running down your left side you should try and sleep on your left side, with your knees bent toward your head, and the pillow between the knees. This prevents a twisting through the lower back as your knee drops to the mattress. This made sense to me. On first use I experienced no discomfort in bed. I did find myself having to re-adjust the pillow throughout the night as it does not stay in place. I had a good nights sleep with no pain, plus it actually prevented me from rolling onto my front. However, for the first three days the pain got worse during the day. Not constant, but as soon as I bent over (even slightly) I would get a sharp, intense pain in my back that was so acute it made me cry out and my legs buckle. I considered whether the pillow was making my condition worse, or if my back was simply recovering from being abused for so long. Well, I am now on day four and the bouts of pain are less frequent although just as intense. So I do believe the pillow is helping me. Certainly I am sleeping much better. At the time of this review the memory foam knee pillow was £19.95. Yes this is a lot of money, but the pillow is well made and more importantly, it can aid with maintaining proper posture in bed. I would recommend.

The Sports Medica knee pillow can really help
My GP diagnosed my knee pain as knee arthritis. This conflicts with the physiotherapist diagnosis of physical stress, overuse, injury, and possibly some arthritic elements. At any rate, though the treatment is different, pain and discomfort and soreness are still the same symptoms. Anyway, this is what works and does not work for me in using the pillow. Bear in mind it's my left knee that's the problem (and not the right side). Hence you need to adjust the opposite way if your problem is on the right knee. But, at the start, perhaps it's useful to know that it doesn't really matter whether the strap is fitting for the size of your knee. In reality you don't need to strap up as your do move the pillow to adjust your position on sleeping. No one really sleeps all night in one position (although there may be a primary position). Anyway: 1. Lying on back. It helps with the knee pillow under the affected knee. It adds a degree of comfort, but not always. Anyway, the helpfulness is shown up by being on holiday without the knee pillow and using an ordinary cushion. I missed the knee pillow! 2. Lying on my left side. Having the knee pillow between the two knees helps to cushion the soreness to a certain extent. However, having the weight of the right leg and knee against the left side somewhat reduces the usefulness of the knee pillow. 3. Sleeping on the right side. This is where the knee pillow is most helpful. It softens the pressure on the affected left knee. 4. Users might find it helpful to experiment with the position of the pillow. That is to say, you can move the pillow on, above, or below the knee and see which position helps most. Also you can play around with the different positions of crossing the legs when you sleep on your side. Personally, I have found that the Sports Medica Knee pillow is the right shape and a good balance of firmness and softness. Hope that's a helpful feedback and that you might enjoy some relief from your discomfort. It's horrible when one tries to sleep with a sore knee. God bless. Dr Tan
