I was under the impression that this particular 'puppy' food was for large breed puppies...is that true?

It is recommended that excessive amounts of Calcium and calories be avoided in large and giant breed pups, (especially during rapid growth periods) because of their increased propensity to develop bone and joint problems later in life. Our recipe follows this model for large breed puppies but it is safe to feed any size puppy.

Why does is say intermittent or supplemental feeding only

Our Whole Food Clusters (the dry food recipes) are complete and balanced to meet AAFCO Nutritional standards, so they're perfectly safe and healthy for daily/exclusive feedings. The only recipes that we have that carry the "intermittent or supplemental feeding" statement, will be the 3 dehydrated base mix recipes-- this is because those recipes require customers to add their own meat to the food before serving. Once meat is added in the correct ratios, those recipes are perfect for daily feeding too.

How much calcium is in the serving?
