These are wonderful Hunting knives. Hold their edge. Great gut hook.

These are very sharp right out of the package as you would expect. Unlike a conventional gut hook which typically lives on the back of a very sharp blade which has to point up at you while you’re reaching inside to dress the animal, the separate gut hook with the rounded polished tip allows you to slide your way in and maneuver around without puncturing organs or risk cutting yourself. Establish a small hole in the hide near the sternum and you can literally dress the entire animal with this hook SAFELY! 🙂

Unfortunately I lost my knives somewhere and bought another set. Blades are sharp and hold an edge. Buddy watch me field dress, skin out and break down 2 deer in camp, and was impressed at how easily these knives handled the tasks.

I haven't gotten the chance to use them yet on what they are meant for, but they are sharp and ready to go. I wish I had them two weeks prior, they definitely would of made things easier to do. Grip is nice, hard to lose them with the bright color and worth the money!

Outdoor edge quality, not quite as practical as the swingblaze which is a single dual purpose tool

Great knife set

I got this set sometime back but finally had an occasion to use it today. First off both blades are razor sharp and cut like a dream. The gutting blade worked perfectly. Lifting slightly on the understand of the skin it zipped through the deer with little to no effort at all. Then with the straight blade I made all my other field dressing cuts. Then I used it to help skin the deer and lastly to help butcher it. Never could tell any difference in how it cut no matter if it was soft tissue, tendon or to dislocated joints. It never let me down. Where in the past I would have to change out knifes due to one getting dull. So if you have any concerns or hesitation about buying this set or from Outdoor Edge don't let it worry you. For the money you pay this set is well worth it.
