RothcoSpec Ops Tactical Fleece Jacket – Great For Layering

My favorite three season garment!
This jacket has all of the features I need and more. I have worn it every day since delivery, and could not be happier. It is thick. I don’t know how textile mfrs. rate fleece quality or thickness (thread count? Pile?), but I have several, and they range from thin and supple to thick and sturdy. This jacket is of the VERY thick, VERY sturdy category. In no particular order, here are the features and benefits that I like. 1. Fit. I am a former 2Xer who lost weight, but not sleeve length, so I now have jackets that hang on me, and a couple newer that fit well in the body and invariably expose my delicate wrists while doing outdoor activities. I have never owned a thumb hole-sleeved jacket and have always wanted to try one. What the heck took me so long?!The thumb holes will have to be lengthened slightly. They are in a seam (smart), which will allow for a simple 5 minute adjustment. And I would rather err on the side of snugness, so glad they aren’t too large. AFTER PURCHASING, I discovered that the sleeve “cuffs” are actually “half palms”, meaning when thumb is in hole, the cuff terminates at, you guessed it, mid-palm. Add gloves and you have a comfortable, secure, warm layer of impermeable protection from touchscreen fingertip to the shoulder. And even though I dropped to XL, the sleeves provide ample range of motion. I can’t believe every jacket does not offer this simple, inexpensive feature. I would suggest to Rothko that they market this feature more aggressively. 👍2. I wear a backpack often, and sometimes, when I can’t avoid it, I do so wearing a fleece jacket. Feel me? The bunching up is usually followed by shoulder pain and strange embossings in my shoulder skin. This jacket is equipped with waterproof shoulder panels that double as pack protection. I loaded up and slung 60 lbs over my shoulder and couldn’t be more pleased. My pack rides more comfortably than ever. The same thick, durable, waterproof material on the shoulders is also on both forearms.3. YKK zippers. Why tactical gear companies use medium weight zippers is a mystery to me.4. TALL, sturdy-yet-comfortable fleece collar wrapped entirely in same durable nylon as shoulder and elbow panels.5. Customary, necessary pockets on chest, both biceps and hand warmer. Drawstring at hip.6. Go ahead and laugh, but you know that looks are important. This is a very aesthetically pleasing jacket. I call it part of the Zalinsky collection. The shoulder hook and loop is very functional, but unless someone is looking, they are pretty stealth. The jacket looks great. Perfect green.CONSVery few. A well designed hood and lumbar zippers would be nice.

Comfortable and warm
I bought this for work which is occasional outside and mostly inside a school. The jacket is warm in about 30 degree weather but not much colder than that. It fits a bit big (XL) which I like. I am normally an XL which is sometimes a tight fit. I'm 6'2" 210 with kind of wide shoulders. 2XL would have been huge on me.

Great quality, warm, versatile
I had another brand variant and it was good, but sleeves were a little short. This one fits great. Quality material and zippers. Became my universal wear everywhere item, and works really well under a shell. For military guys, which I am not, it lacks hook and loop on the chest, only equiped on arms. No big deal if you're not in the service.

Comfortable and warm, but definitely built to fit a price point
So the jacket is warm and cozy, and inexpensive. However, there are definitely corners cut which I will list;• Loose threads and long stitching ends abound. Get the scissors ready.• Extra material around the inside of pockets flaps on the inside of the jacket, they were stitched with speed and not precision.• Zip cord around the base of jacket snapped loose at the first tug. The elastic cord separated from one end of the jacket, resulting in a need to remove the entire cord.• The cuff thumb holes are nearly worthless; oddly positioned and stitched much too small. But it IS comfortable and looks nice enough. It's pretty inexpensive. You decide!

Comfy and durable
I got this jacket for my boyfriend. He loves that it is very heavy duty while still being comfortable. It also has Velcro spots on the side where he was able to put cute patches.

Perfect fit
I'm 5'11" and 180 pounds. I sometimes have issues with jackets fitting properly because I have long monkey arms. I ordered a large and it is true to size and fits perfectly. Very well made. You won't go wrong with this one.

Not a good fit
Seemed like this fleece jacket was ment for a gorilla as the arms of the 2X went well past my knees and the waste would not zip up and my normal jacket size is 2X and I have never found an issue getting a jacket before.

buen producto en general
Buen producto en general, solo hay dos detalles que no me gustaron, la tela de los hombros no me agrada es muy lisa y en los brazos tiene unos cuadros muy grandes de velcro y se deforma un poco esa área.

good fit, cheap zippers
good fit, cheap zippers, teeth off the pocket zippers are coming off with 1 use...would be a nice fleece if not for the zippers.
