T-fal C771SI Elegance Stainless Steel Cookware Set, 18-Piece, Silver

Years ago I had a set of t-fal w/Teflon coating. I loved it. But it had gotten old & hubby decided we needed new. So new he bought at local store, it was not t-fal & it was terrible. The Teflon spelled off & they rusted. I decided we needed a new set. Knowing how much I liked my first set of t-fal I decided to get a new set. I also decided the next best thing to my trusty iron skillets was yo go stainless steel. I sure made the right decision, they clean up easy. Look really great sitting on your stove. So I would venture to say I would tell any & everyone looking for cookware to get T-fal so on the laptop to Amazon I went. The hardest part was deciding which set of t-fal of buy .I finally decided on the 18, because of the two steamers pots & deep skillet.

This cookware does not live up to its claims. The stay-cool handles get "too hot to handle," especially on the smaller pans. I tested the handle coolness by boiling a pot of water for about 20 minutes. To my surprise, there were small, dark spots on the bottom of the pan which I could not remove with a nylon pad, although I was able to remove the stains with a solution of vinegar and lemon juice, as instructed in the manual. There were also stains when I cooked actual food, I have no desire to clean with vinegar and lemon juice every time I wash a pot. The large frying pan showed a sort of golden discoloration along the inner sides which I could not remove. Also, food stuck to the frying pan much more than it sticks to my old stainless steel cookware. The best part of this transaction was the return process. I sent the package back to Amazon and they received it the next day. My card was credited within the next couple of days.

I was very pleased when I first received my new cook ware.Now after almost 6 weeks it is starting to show rust in places.Disappointed! It cost a lot.

Stained and a lot of work to keep clean. Good for the price.

I like this set of pans very much. I looked for quite a bit of time before deciding on this set.Pro:- It has almost every size and piece you would ever need and comes with lids for almost everything. The largest of these easily fits two boxes of chicken helper (which takes two pounds of chicken, noodles, butter, and 8 cups of liquid).- They are very nice looking, both in color and shape. Everyone who has seen these has commented on how nice they look.- The pans themselves I feel are of decent thickness and weight for daily use.- The black measuring lines inside are very useful. Very easy to pull a pan out, read the label, and quickly decide whether it is big enough for what I'm making.- They are stainless steel, so can go into the oven. At the same time, the handles are still comfortable and (in my experience) have not gotten hot.Cons:- They are not exactly stainless. The first time I used the largest frying pan, I cooked french toast (using non-stick spray). The pan was washed immediately after use, but there is still a slight discoloration along one of the edges.- Perhaps a few too many pieces. One of the positives of this set is that it offers so many pans, but a few of them I am sure I will almost never use. Possibly something like a colander would be a better addition?- Storage of these is hard, especially with all of the lids. This pans almost take up an entire cabinet to themselves and without special racks/shelves, there is really no good way to organize them. The sheer number of lids is especially hard to find space for.Overall, I was very happy with this purchase. For the price, these pans offer a lot of variety and are of good quality.

T-fal C771SI63 Elegance Stainless Steel Dishwasher safe 18-Piece Cookware Set, SilverVerbiage states Induction safe in two spots. Well it doesn't work at all on my induction stove so now I have to return!

Very uneven quality spoils what otherwise could be a nice set of cookware. We bought this set from Amazon's subsidiary, Woot, replacing a set of Revereware that we'd had ~25 years -- that set's still usable, but started showing it's age hanging in the kitchen. The T-fal stainless looks great by comparison, but sadly won't last nearly as long, which to us is the whole point of buying stainless cookware in the 1st place. The problem with goods made in China is that the quality can be pretty uneven. Hopefully the company selling the goods stays on top of it, so lower quality products never make it to the store shelves -- T-fal Did Not! The stainless used for the 2 qt. pot is not the same, is softer, showing fairly deep scratches after less than 1 month of use -- the other pots are used the same amount, if not more, & show no signs of this. The metal on the bottom of the 5 qt pot is defective. It started showing depressions, which turn into pits, the 1st time we used it -- it's as if there are air bubbles in the aluminum base under a very thin layer of stainless steel. T-fal's response when I wrote them is to ship it to them so they can take a look -- we'll buy another brand 5 qt. pot for what shipping would cost us.
