It's great
Really great for the price. Puts out plenty of power to the speakers. Sounds great. Downsides are that it's loud, and I don't mean the volume I mean the fans inside... As loud as my air cooled gaming tower maybe even a bit louder. There is also no dedicated buttons for input select on either the unit or the remote, you have to cycle through them. Probably "better" receivers out there, but for the price I paid ($180ish with tax on a sale) it can't be beat. Definitely recommend.

Mixed results so far - and a revision
A late addition to my review. It is not a good product - the HDMI connections were static-filled and inconsistent from the beginning, and it began to really malfunction after the return window was over - for me, the return window ended on 9 November and today, 11 November, the components are not connecting at all. The cable box and DVD HDMI connections (HDMI 1 and 3) work, but the computer connection (HDMI 2) does not work - no sound at all. And I did change the HDMI cable, to no avail. The fan on this unit is incredibly loud - I have to turn it off completely when turning the TV and cable box off as the DBs for the fan are similar to a house fan turned up high. My household is technically adept, but I was the only one that could understand how to use it once set up. The user interface is clunky and counter-intuitive, and this became evident the longer we used it If I could return it, I definitely would do so, but I didn't use the other HDMI input components for most of the time I have had it, and when I wanted to actually use it, it is not working at all, even after changing the cable. Definitely one star, or less... Previous review After having the receiver for almost a week before taking it out of the box, I was initially surprised by how skimpy the owner's manual and directions for hooking it up to her. The schematic was poorly drawn, but eventually, I figured it out and got it to work – sort of. Only one HDMI port works as advertised, but the rest had issues – no sound, distorted sound, or static. In fact, there is some weird, almost demonic static that's constant in any mood, and I have to figure out if there's some type of external interference going on. But the interesting thing is that I'm kind of excited by it because of how convenient the HDMI connections are, and if I ever figure out how to use the remote easily, it actually could be a good unit. Stay tuned…

No operating instructions
The manual provided with the unit is all but useless. No hook-up advice and no operating instructions. I spent half a day wiring and rewiring the speakers and still couldn't get them all to work with my iPod. Called the service number and got a never ending merry-go-round of messages, it did quickly state a web address. I went to the site I thought I heard and got an independent stereo store 2500 miles away. They were very helpful. I tried one of my retired CDs and it powered the surround mode just fine. Half a day wasted. I'm still stumbling into how to work it. (The Surround Sound folks say I should use the 2.1 Channel for iPod.) Took days to figure out how to activate Blue Tooth - that works fine once you know where it is and how to use it. I really didn't need the Microphone functions, don't plan on becoming a Karaoke star any time soon. But the Unit was fairly priced for one without this functionality. I would buy this unit again, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is inexperienced setting up electronics. Finally, and this is particularly important to classical music listeners, the unit has a very loud cooling fan that will overwhelm the more quiet notes.

Great, affordable addition to my home sound system.
This stereo receiver works great for my home sound system. Connecting my speakers, TV, and record player were a piece of cake, although the directions could be a little more thorough. It even has bluetooth capability, which is awesome. The sound is clear and crisp and bright. All the functions are easy to figure out. It's a good price, and I appreciate how I could choose a payment plan. It is on the larger side, but Very pleased.

Very loud fans! Difficult setup.
Trying to replace a dead Pyle PDA7BU with better speaker connects (prefer banana) and add 3 channels. Shopped really in depth within my budget. Some reviews had this as loud....they are RIGHT!! The fans are just really annoying if you're within 20 feet. I'm connecting to my PC for my office sound system and am about 4 feet away. Also, trying to connect the PC digital to the PYLE is very tricky and cumbersome. Am about ready to return this and re-shop! Not sure if this is the correct way to add to my review, but here goes. I was excited about getting the PT796BT. It was to replace a PYLE PDA7BU that I'd had for years and it finally just died. My great experience made me want another PYLE but one that fit my newer system and needs. Unfortunately, the fan noise on the new 796 was just too loud for my small office. The shelf for it is about 3 feet directly above my head where my PC desk is. Add that to the problem I had getting the AUX IN or mthe Digital Coax In on the 796 to work properly...and it had to go back! However, I still like the PYLE products and am considering a Pyle PT888BTWM, or perhaps a Pyle PT696BT. I'm going to couple that with a PYLE PSPVC6 (or similar) and I am 99% certain that will suit my needs for a long time. Assuming I don't have any similar issues!! I hope to acquire these in the next 2-3 weeks.

WARNING! Expensive Free Warranty Repair & Bad Customer Service SEE UPDATE!
Update to the original update! DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT! The name should be your first clue, it is nothing but a PYLE(pile)! Bought this on Nov 27th of 2020, one week before the one year warranty was up (November 20th 2021), the pile stopped producing sound of any kind. After hassling with the customer service rep, who barely had a comprehension of the English language, I finally got ahold of the company directly, and they instructed me to return to the unit to them (at my expense of$35.00 for shipping) and they replaced the faulty motherboard. I then found out that once the unit was repaired, I had to pay ANOTHER $35.00 in shipping to get it back. Once it arrived, I did enjoy an excellent sound and was very happy. For about another year! On Christmas morning of this year (December25th, 2022) I was gifted a nice turntable so I could finally use my vinyl collection. However, upon turning the unit on, the screen showing the input was frozen, and wouldn't leave the current setting. I attempted to change the input setting, but had no idea what input it was on, as the screen remained frozen, and wouldn't even change to respond to trying to change the volume. I am considering attaching an eyelet, and a long rope so I can at least use this poor quality pile as a boat anchor come summer. Never again will this company see any more of my business! UPDATE: We were finally able to get ahold of the company which repaired the unit, but we had to pay the $70 round trip postage! Save your money and buy local! Our unit is less than a year old and we called support when the unit quit putting out sound. We called and after taking down all of our information said we would be contacted by email and they would deal with it that way. The young lady barely had a grasp on English and there was extreme background noise on her end. Not pleased with customer service so far.

Not actually surround sound…
The receiver does not have an actual surround sound decoding module of any kind. Using the term 7.1 is diabolically misleading; as this unit is not an actual surround sound-enabled system, all channels will literally just play the same thing through all the speakers, just 7 times. Front left, front right, center, and surround speakers, all just playing the same thing. I’m not even sure if it’s playing in stereo, it sounds like it might be mono. NOT how any home theater speaker systems are intended to function, in case you weren’t aware. Without the actual module for the surround sound programming in the receiver itself there is no way to get actual surround sound unless you replace the receiver entirely. I mean aside from that I guess the thing works ok. I guess if you just use it solely for music, playing the same thing through 7 speakers definitely fills a room really nicely. Still won’t be surround sound though. The fan is also astonishingly loud and never shuts off while the unit is on. So there’s that. Remote sucks. But all things considered I guess if you literally just want something to hook 7 speakers and a sub up to this will serve that purpose, but not much else

Económico y funcional, sonido envolvente 7.1 (si sabes usarlo)
