One of those great boxes that just does what it should
So, I was looking for a way to record my guitar and bass player dry, as well as via a mic in front of their amps. This little box does exactly what it should - you plug it into the signal chain directly after the instrument, and plug the XLR out into your DAW. Then you plug the quarter inch out from it into the next hop in their signal chain, adjust the volume, and you're done. I had a little problem with hum until I hit the ground lift button on the guitar player's rig, but then, that's what a ground lift is for. This box is a super-transparent instrument-level DI, and it does that job flawlessly. It's active buffered (powered by your phantom power) so it places no load on the instrument at all - my guitar and bass players couldn't tell the difference between it in and out of their signal chain. It also has the ability to go the other way - take the output of your DAW and put it *into* a stomp box, amp, or whatever - I haven't tried using it that way but I expect it works equally well. Also feels like it's well made - metal casing with smooth fit and finish. And a handy LED to let you know it's getting phantom power.

Great product
This is a wonderful product. The quality of the DIs is great, and this thing could not be easier to use. The price is great considering that this is a high quality DI/Re-amp box in one. The gain control makes it very versitile as well.

Need more support for this device, more in&out put options. Reamp is a joke. DI side is fine.
It needs more input and output options for stuff loke the scarlett 18i8 and they need way more videos posted for different setups to be used with such a device. Very limited info online anywhere.I get a lot of high pitched frequency coming out of the reamp going into my amp if I don't put a noise gate between the reamp out and the amp input this things not the best with some equipment.Needs.. it needs a balanced 1/4 input to take a 1/4 in from a interfaces 1/4 out. The scarlett devices do not have a xlr out so this make it very much a pain to work with. Can you get a good tone with this? Sort of.. but I feel it is holding me back from getting a djent style clean hardcore metal tone. I will be buying bare knuckle juggernaught pick ups here soon so the redeye will still have hope until i get those higher output pups. With my EMG actives the device works a lot better with active pups than it does passives. But having to dial the reamp out volume way back to the point I can't play my guitar when reamping via DI.. not cool..
