Lesley Herbert's Complete Book of Sugar Flowers

This is a very lovely book. Full of great information for the more advanced decorator. It is a fine one to add to your permanent library, especially if you really enjoy making fondant/gumpaste flowers. She offers some of the more interesting and unusual flowers. She is from the U.K. so some of the flowers are not ones we get in the U.S.A. Most of these flowers require cutters, but she does include some that do not. There are good step by step directions, provided you do have some knowledge of this medium. The only flower that I can't find a cutter for here is the carnation and it looks as though it would be a great way to make it, too.

I ordered this book to try and learn to make gumpaste flowers. My flowers turned out great!!! I was able to use the books instructions and techniques to help me make flowers that were both in and not in this book simply by following the same steps with the flower that I wanted to make. GREAT BOOK IF YOU ARE WANTING TO LEARN AND YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH REAL FLOWERS!!!!

This book is the one to get if you are interested in making sugar or gumpaste flowers. It is a complete step by step for common AND unusual flowers. Having pictures for each step eliminates mistakes. Excellent book which made my first attempt at gumpaste a snap. I made a difficult flower, cymbidium orchids, for a wedding shower display, and they turned out beautiful. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent how to book. It has lots of pictures of each step, so it is easy to follow. Please be aware that you should have a little experience in fondant/ gum paste work. The book also uses many cutters and veiners, but there are many things you can do without them. Very instructive text.

Old book, but a lot of good information.

The steps in this book are easy to follow and the flowers look fantastic. She is English, so some of the terminology is a little bit different. Plus, I had problems finding the stems to make my own stamens. Otherwise, this was a fantastic book. Must better than anything produced by Wilton.

Great book, very ugly and dated book cover, but the it has very good detailed info on how to create each flower. Missing some classic flowers, though.

I recently starting learning more detailed sugar flowers. A friend found this book and loaned it to me. After getting thru the first chapter, I HAD to order one for myself. Excellent instructional book. You won't regret purchasing it and it only took a week to receive it :-)

I started a Sugar paste course in Sept 2012 and this was recommended by the tutor. Its an excellent complimentary aide to the hands on teaching. Out of class it helps tremendously in taking skills a stage further. I'm not sure I could do this craft with the book only as my guide but that's not a negative. It's a case of understanding how tricky this craft actually is. The designs and floral spray ideas cakes for cakes are very inspiring!

This book when it arrived - albeit an 'older' book - the front page was just as impressive as I had thought the inside was going to be!Sooooo impressed! Totally love this book, and have already used it to practice some of my sugarpaste flower making. So easy to use, and the designs and final floral sprays and ideas for cakes is truly inspiring!I think Lesley Herbert is one of the best when it comes to detail, and this book does not disappoint!

I love this book. I have made some of the flowers already and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I have some other sugarcraft flower books which are slightly more complicated to make, but this book is a pleasure to use. It has been well worth the money and certainly will not be left on the shelf to gather dust.

I chose this book as an improver for sugar flower, it does not disappoint, with it's step by step instructions and guide to follow. It's a good book for both beginners and an advance reference point, for your library
