Works like a charm!

We rescued a dog that had been abandoned in a dog park. His name is Parker (no-brainer) and he is a flat coated retriever. We don't know how old he is but we suspect about 10 or 11. We've had him for nine years. Parker is the calmest, gentleless, sweetest dog you could hope for except when there is a storm or rain. We can't leave the house if there is bad weather. When we were not with him during a storm, he has ripped up cardboard boxes, a cable out of the wall, and basically wreaked havoc on anything he could reach. When we are there we have to wear protective clothing to keep him from ripping out skin open with his claws. He shakes uncontrollably drools constantly. We tried a crate, he cried and scratched at the door continually. He ripped the expensive "thunder shirt" off in just a few minutes. We tried everything the vet prescribed and every OTC drug. Our vet finally came up with a gel that was very hard to administer, took and hour to kick-in and cost $10 a dose. We stumbled on Licks in a warehouse store and thought "Why not?" IT WORKED! Parker likes it and will slurp it up. He goes to sleep and ignores the weather. Thank you LICKS! You have improved the quality of life for one dog and two exhausted dog parents.

This calming aid really works to calm my dogs so that they can relax and nap during thunderstorms and fireworks. Without it, my dogs are petrified and shaking. They get really scared from the noise.

My 8 pound yorkie suffers from anxiety during fireworks and thunderstorms. July 4th 2020 and 2021 was a nightmare because the fireworks went beyond the holiday. This year I had to really prep to somehow help my dog get some relief. I found a combination of several tactics helped make this July 4th 2022 pass easier. I used Licks in combination with another calming supplement plus I prepped the environment (living room) by having the A/C running, tv on, and covered my windows and doorways with heavy blankets to buffer any sounds. All this effort paid off. Licks on its own helps a little for thunderstorms and it takes a full packet given at least a half hour before a storm. Giving it to him at the right time is the hard part because he’s finicky and you can’t predict Mother Nature 100%. I’m adding behavior modification which is a work in progress. I will buy again for next year. I just wish it was not as expensive for the amount you get.

The best calming aid for fireworks. My dog has anxiety, Independence Day New Year’s Eve, Christmas Day all can be day for my dog. This helps him make it through the tough time.

I love this product, so I would give it a 5 if it weren't for the box being squished in shipping..that's a shipping AND packaging issue. My dog is terribly afraid of thunder/lighting and fireworks. My neighbor suggested this product, so I tried it. My dog won't eat anything when she's afraid, so I try to give this to her before thunder/lighting or fireworks start. However if I don't time it correctly, I open a package and put it on a flat plate so the smell "calls her". Whenever she feels safe, she eats it. I also have to give prescription drugs to my dog, but that doesn't work on its own (and neither does the Licks). I use both together. Packaging was awful on this shipment though. This product is NOT cheap (too high, I believe) and I would think it would be shipped in a box or something that protects the contents and not get squished to oblivion.

The only reason this is getting a five star is because it helped Ivan get through fireworks without leaving him too loopy. One star for the smell it smelled of motor oil.Looked like vegimite. It was easy to smear onto his waffle treats.
