Textilepedia: The Complete Fabric Guide

This book is awesome if you love all things textiles. I got it in search of trying to understand materials with sewing. I want to find some soft medium weight fabrics for a dress. This is going to be a huge reference for me making garments. Its even got added information on production and processings of fabrics. Quite interesting.

I like how the book shows different fabrics and how to use them, and even how to wash. Its good for all designers to have this book because it can open your mind to other materials and etc. Pretty cool.

This book is phenomenal! It completely blew away my expectations. Rarely do you find a guide that is legitimately useful for beginning and advanced levels, but Textilepedia manages it. If you know nothing about fabric, you could read this one book and be light-years beyond virtually anyone who doesn't work in the industry. Not to mention, you won't have to worry about falling for the mountains of misinformation floating around the Internet. And if you're already a textile nerd, this book is a perfect quick-reference. They clearly put a ton of thought into the design and organization, so you can pick it up and quickly grab the answer you need, but it's also tempting to get sucked in and want to keep browsing all the other fabrics. I wish I would've had this book sooner. It would've saved me so many hours throughout years of piecing together bits of fabric info and learning "the hard way." I highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in fabric, fashion design, costuming, or even just learning more about the clothes you're wearing right now (assuming you're wearing clothes... 🤔)

Lo amo!, es una de mis biblias... soy diseñadora de modas y este libro me ha encantado, es la forma perfecta de tener una base de información de telas en u solo lugar.... las fotos ayudan a que pueda identificar perfecto que textura es y que nombre tiene.

Es un muy buen libro sobre textiles para el día a día, sobre todo si eres un amante de las fibras te va a venir muy bien. Aunque le puede servir más a alguien que recién se está metiendo en el mundo.

Incredible. I am honestly lost in my words. It explains SO MUCH- if not everything related to fabric. From the materials to how they are processed to the implications each fabric has. I am just in love this is incredible. It is my treasure. I needs every book of them.

El libro es muy bueno, explica a detalle las cosas. Tiene información actualizada y novedosa sobre las fibras, hilos, tejidos e incluso un poco de maquinaria. Generalmente los libros de textiles y fibras se concentran en lo básico que se ve desde hace 10 años, pero este va más allá de forma muy puntual. Excelente libro para estudiantes. Y un gran libro de cabecera para todos los que trabajamos en la industria
