Brilliant. Utterly enjoyable for a general history reader, with at the same time as much historical and linguistic depth and detail as almost anyone could ask for. Wonderfully done.

Well-written book on an interesting area/era of history.

Odd weak little thing unfortunately. I will go back to it to see if it needs a second look though.

Written by an academic in an easy reading format the book contains detail about the Norse settlement and conquest of the UK.
