Great purchase
Had this thing for almost 3 years now. Granted I don't fish a ton, but the rod is still great, easily catching catfish and more. Def would recc

Best Telescopic Iโve ever had
I watched a video and read all the reviews but had to test it myself. First time at Redondo Beach Pier it held a stingray, my friend grabbed the pole and asked how much can it handle and I said I donโt know I just bought it! Held it good and the line is a 20 lb test. Took it to Malibu Pier and pulls up 3 fish no worries. Then to Marina Del Rey bait dock and pull bonitos, barracudas and big smelt so easy. I own a lot of poles but for some reason this is my favorite. Smooth reel and strong and I would suggest anyone to get this and see for yourself. Itโs also very sensitive to feel so itโs easier for me than my deep sea to feel but I use both just to maximize my fishing game lol I bought it for travel bc itโs small enough to pack. I also clean the scales off every time after a day of fishing, donโt want it to mess with packing it in My friends spend hundreds of dollars on reels and poles and I catch more most of the time ๐ I think Iโm gonna buy another bc itโs so great to work with plus the extended pole under my armpit helps when Iโm fighting a fish

You really get a lot for your money here
OK this isn't a thousand-dollar rig and I probably wouldn't use this as my main setup if I wasn't traveling. But this is WAY nicer than you'd expect a "travel" right to be. Most collapsible rods suck - either the sections don't fit well or they're too lightweight to be useful, whatever it is. This rod is very solid and has lots of little details even some non-travel rods don't have, like the ferrules have a really nice rainbow-color anodizing on them, the reel mounting ring has a secondary locking screw so it doesn't work loose, and that ring has little decorative dots milled into it, etc. It's honestly very artistic and way nicer than I expect - not a picasso, but not Walmart either. The reels has nice touches as well. The handle is wood rather than plastic, and milled against the grain so it has a nice pattern. It also folds, which a lot of cheap reels don't bother with. Being preloaded with line wasn't really necessary but does save 5 minutes so there's that. The tension setting has a pretty wide range and worked well, and there's a free-spool toggle on it which is super nice if you want to wade in, cast, then walk back out of the surf without moving your set. This kit does come with a clip-on bell but I set that aside. It's so sensitive that it just rings constantly if there's even a slight breeze. And there's a telescoping rod holder which was more or less totally useless. It's too short and too thin to hold anything. But let's be honest, every kit you buy online these days has "the thing you wanted" and "some other stuff thrown in." It's not really important if the "other stuff" is any good as long as the thing you wanted is... My only complaint so far is that the fit of the reel's spool to the reel body is a little close for my taste. It gets crunchy easily if you get any sand blowing around while you're fishing. It's easy to clean but i personally prefer surf feels to have a bit wider tolerances in that area. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Medium-Heavy travel rod
Great for travel! Iโve had it in a carry on, with it just barely sticking out of the zipper. medium-heavy action, very stout for a telescoping.

Easy to transport but no grip.
This rod and reel combo is a compact and provides a transportable catfish rig. It is easy to set up and the rod stays sturdy when fully extended. There is no grip on the handle so it gets slippery when my hands are sweaty and damp.

Skeptical, reviews are true, this is pretty awesome
Bought this rod and reel because of the reviews, and it delivered. Immediately took off the mono line, replaced with 50 lb braid. It comes with a plastic holder for the end, which I now leave on when in transit. It is my go to catfish/bottom combo when fishing local rivers, so it's best to set in a rod holder and throw a bell on it. Reel feels strong, no problem with line snags. The only drawback is if you get sand on the pole, the sliding in and out is rough, but all you have to do is wipe it down, and it's like new.

Broke in half!
This was about the 5th time I used this pole. Was okay rod and reel until this happened last night. I have NEVER seen a rod snap like this one did. It was caught on a snag but didn't do anything any different than I ever have with all other rods, even cheap walmart one. Less than 2 years old used about 5 times. :(

Love it
Amazing I really like it but I was curious on the rod but itโs hold up well just over 10 times in the 2 months Iโve had it and I catfish so this got 40lbs braided like and it has no problem with 10-12 pounders we will see what happens when I hook a 20+ pounder so far all good and price fits my budget
