I ordered two sets initially, one for myself and one for my daughter, and ordered two more for gifts to friends. They loved their gifts. It is a small chore to clean them first with soap to get the manufacturing oils etc out. They work great (not as long lasting as ice cubes of the same size though, but you can always replace them with new cold ones in your drink) and they won't dilute your whisky. If you like your fine single malt whisky on the rocks, they are great. They are well made, are good gifts for friends or loved ones, and are good conversation pieces.

Did not keep beverage cold in the least

It comes in a nice case. It makes it easier to keep track and store them. I placed cold stones I had frozen in my glass filled with cold Irish whiskey... and it kept my drink decently cool. Its not going to make it cold like ice... it just helps maintain the temperature longer for a nice drinking experience. I enjoy these and would recommend them to anybody wishing to keep their whiskey cool while smoking a stogie on the porch.

I got these steel whiskey stones about a week ago and they are working out great. I’m not sure if they keep my drink as cold as ice or not (I didn’t measure the temp) but they seem to work about as well. They also stay cold longer than I expected. Some ice may be fine for a regular drink but I hate watering down my nice liquor so these are perfect. I use about four in a glass so I’m glad that I bought the 8-pack set for extra. I don’t think that the shape really matters but these are convenient.

I bought these to use with water in my insulated tumbler. They are not good for that. The volume of water is too much and these things can't make the water cold, even if you use all 8 of them. I wanted them because they fit in the freezer section of the mini fridge I have at work, and they don't need refilling. I don't drink liquor so I'll give this set to someone who can use it. Nice idea though and nicely made.

These might "keep" a drink cool, but they won't chill a drink like ice.....I was hoping to finally enjoy a gin & tonic with friends without worrying about the ice melting too much before I can finish my drink. Unfortunately, these didn't work well. It barely made the drink cold on its own --and I put 4 (maybe more) of them in a small whisky glass. From now on I'll use them for entertaining or to adorn the glass but I'm better off buying small individual tonic bottles and refrigerating them beforehand for a cold gin & tonic. If the gin bottle fits in my freezer -even better!

After reading a fellow Arizona resident's review I thought I would give these a shot since I wanted reusable cubes. Now I usually use these for water, sports drinks or soft drinks and I have to say they are pretty awesome. These drinks can keep your dtinks cold for a noticeably longer time then ice without watering down your drink. If you want these to chill your drink they can, you have to be a little patient and these only chill it a bit, but it will make a room temp. soda drinkable for those of us in hot climates who want a cold drink. Can't go wrong with these!

As a somewhat serious amateur mixologist, I enjoy the taste and ambiance associated with many types of spirit indulgences. I've always been concerned with the dilution of drinks that require ice for chill, and have a good complement of the popular types of large cube appliances. However, many drinks require somewhat longer times for more gradual consumption, and that's where the steel "stones" fix the bill. They give me the feel and glamour of imbibing in a futuristic lounge such as that depicted in "Clockwork Orange".
