Thick-It Puree Protein Variety Pack, 15 oz, 12 Pack, Ready-to-Eat

Got this variety pack for my 91 year old Dad suffering from oral cancer who can't chew anymore but can swallow finely pureed foods. He's a fairly critical judge when it comes to food - like if it says it has bacon, it better have a respectable amount of it, so he was hesitant to try these. He's pleased with all 5 flavors in this Variety Pack and I'll be ordering another soon. Wish Thick-It had another Variety Pack with some of their other offerings (you listening, Thick-It?).

This product is very convenient for me. It reduces my time to prepare meal into half. It is creamy, testy, and easy to digest. It can be eaten from the can or mixed into rice soup. It is worth it.

I bought these for my grandpa since we had been blending his food to make it easier for him to swallow and to help with dinner time going by a little faster. These worked really well, there was a flavor he wasn’t super fond of but otherwise had no difficulty feeding him. The consistency was really on par for what we were looking for.

Desperate to find pureed food for my bedridden father, I ordered this case of assorted Thick It canned protein foods. It was expensive, not as much as some of the other pureed foods you can find online, but certainly costly enough. Each 15 Oz can would have made 3 meat servings, so 3 days of evening meals. Pull top was convenient. But unfortunately this pureed food is gritty and terrible tasting. And I don't blame dad for taking a spoonful and refusing another bite. Too bad as I would have been a grateful regular purchaser. I gave it 3 stars for price, convenience for at door delivery and having a mixed selection of proteins. But I would not recommend this product because of gritty texture and terrible taste.

This was the most aweful tasting foods I have ever eaten. The smell exactly the same as the canned dog food I feed my dog. They tasted pungent and gritty. I’m not sure who formulated these foods but surely they didn’t taste them. I have 10 of the 12 cans left and I can’t bring myself to try another can.

If you love to cook but dont want to have to puree foods then some of these are ok, but just ok... They do have some seasoning.

I struggled with pureeing food for my father. What I like: Dad likes the flavors. It’s fast and easy. They have good nutrition and fill him up. What I dislike: Puréed food looks bad but it serves an important purpose for swallowing and choking problems. How I use it: I make up little meals in storage containers. I put an entree servings, some vegetable and pudding for dessert. 🍮 Then I store them in the refrigerator to make meal times fast and easy. My recommendation: You will be glad you got them! A real game changer for me. Caregiving is hard on good days. This makes the rough days a little easier.

carefully packaged. very quick to prepare. sadly looks and smells like canned dog food. Good enough for instant food in a hurry but not for regular meals. I'll go back to home-prepared food in food processor.
