Not for wood craving
You can tell this wood is bad quality where the wood at stuck together via glue.Which will damage your craving knife. Can buy a well know brand for the same price and much much better quality

Very hard to Whittle.
Bought for whittling but far too hard to carve easily or safely. Will try to soften by soaking and freezing. As a beginner I could do with better raw materials.

Hard gummy wood
These blocks are very hard and gummy, not like any basswood I’ve ever carved and I’ve come across some very good to very poor blocks over the years. This wood falls below the lowest standards, I’ve carved oak much easier than this. It could be just a bad batch or everything they sell could be as bad, but I won’t chance it again.
