This is the perfect set for anyone who loves using candles! The two pieces are a brushed stainless steel and are rust proof. Both tools (the wick trimmer and snuffer) are both about 7" which is perfect for everyone's hands. The snuffer dangles on ring connectors so you can move it as needed to cover the wick and "snuff" out the flame. The wick trimmer is bent in a fashion that makes it possible to cut the wick in a deeper glass easily and because it has the round, flat head, the wick lands on TOP of the head which makes it easy to pull out and retrieve from the candle. I actually bought this for myself but now that I've tested it out I decided to buy a second set to give it as part of a candle/relaxation basket next holiday season! This set is the perfect gift or addition to basket! Before buying this Wick Trimmer & Snuffer set, I have always just used regular scissors to cut candle wicks down. I decided to try these out and I am so glad that I did. The trimmers are easy to use and work great. I was impressed by it catching the piece of the wick, rather than having it fall into the candle (that has always annoyed me). I showed this set my mom today when she was visiting and now she wants one, too. The snuffer does what it's supposed to and puts the flame out. They are stainless steel and really well-made. This set comes with a wick trimmer and candle snuffer. They are both made from a good quality stainless steel. I used the wick trimmer and it cut the wick smoothly across without any problems. I used the candle snuffer to put out candles instead of blowing the candles out. When you blow out candles, it creates smoke. This candle snuffer makes less smoke. I like to make my own candles. The wick trimmer is also good to cut wicks that are too long. I received this product at a discount in exchange for a review.
